Shrimp goodness

Last night for dinner, we were going to have steak, but the poor boy (suffering with a nasty headcold) asked for something spicy. So I quick-thawed the rest of the shrimp and made a dish based on a chipotle pepper sauce that was probably one of the best meals I've ever created. No cookbook, no real inspiration. Just off the top of my head amazing. I am really proud of it.

I would post the recipe, but I'm seriously considering entering it in a recipe contest somewhere. If anyone knows of some good contests out there, let me know. I'll be checking some magazine websites today.

Have you tried the new chipotle tabasco sauce? It is seriously tasty. I've never been fond of the sort of vinegary tang of the regular kind, but they had the new stuff at a restaurant, and I'm sold sold sold. Graaaaarrrrm. =)

You might want to look into http://www.globalgarden.com/Chile-Heads/list_info.phtml -- it's a mailing list for chile chompers. They tend to be a bit HEAVY chile though, but I know they have info about all sorts of contests involving any amounts of chiles. I think Chile Pepper magazine has contests. Also a lot of local newspapers run that sort of thing. Maybe a google search for "recipe contest" and your city's name would be useful.

Congrats... I love successful spur of the moment cooking. Make sure you share your recipe once you win awards with it!

Cool! Yeah, and why not enter it somewhere? The web must be chock-full of such contest information.
