King's Bread Mix

Does anyone who works/used to work or is a regular patron out at faire know about something called "The King's Bread Mix?" A friend on campus isn't going to make it out to KCRF this year, but asked me to pick up a couple packages for her. I've never heard of the stuff, and she couldn't give me good instructions on where the booth that sells it might be located.

Apparently it's a bread mix where all you add is a can of beer...sound familiar? Anyone? Anyone?

Doesn't ring a bell with me at all...

but is it somehow different from the other thousands of Beer Bread mixes you can get? I've used Pampered Chef's version and love Tastefully Simple's. Just wondering.

I have no clue. I don't make bread (other than banana bread). I'm just asking for my friend.

I know what you are talking about, but do not know the name of the booth where it can be had (nor do I know if they are even there this year). I'll look around and see if I can spot it during our break times.

Are you going to be on site any time this weekend? If not, I can post here on Monday or pass along the info via Madam Red.

As for whether it is any better than any of the commercially available products, I do not know. I always had the impression that it was a variation on Amana bread (the kind that uses a sweet dough starter similar to sourdough).

I'll be out with the brothel both days this weekend. Thanks for the help!

I did find the place that sells it, but I am certainly bookmarking that for my own use. What a simple recipe! And so easy to embellish. Wow! Thank you, hon!!!
