Good times!

I woke up this morning, some time between 3:15 and 3:30 a.m. I lay in bed for a long time thinking "surely not," but by 3:45 it was obvious that Mr. Sleep was not coming back.

So today I have already: loaded, run, and emptied the dishwasher; scrubbed the inside of the oven door and the stove top range; organized and wiped down the kitchen countertops; cleaned the downstairs bathroom; and painted my nails. I wanted to start a load of laundry, but I didn't want to be going up and down the stairs too awful much.

Oh, and I polished off one full pot of coffee. I'm considering purchasing some coffee downstairs to get me through the rest of the morning.

What makes this whole situation even better is I have at meeting this afternoon from 4:00 to 5:00 that I do not have the option of skipping.

Fantastic! I know I'm going to be at the top of my meeting-minutes-taking game by then.

Reminds me of an army commercial from a few years ago- something about doing more before breakfast than most people do all day.

Hooray for killing off chores.
Un-hooray for not being able to sleep.

You at the bottom-of-your-game will be more than sufficient to the meeting task.

I think I ought to try doing that when not able to sleep. Maybe it'll at least make me tired enough to sleep well the next night.

But I'm sure I won't be NEAR as ambitious as you are with the cleaning up.
I now have a househusband for that. Hee.

Avoid any heavy physical activity.
Give yourself more coffee at 3PM. A lot more.
If you feel drowsy before (or during) the meeting, chew some super-minty gum. You can't fall asleep while chewing.

Thank you for the tips!

Avoid any heavy physical activity.

This is pretty much the norm for me, so fine with that.

Give yourself more coffee at 3PM.

I'll go refill my thermos mug at 3:00.

You can't fall asleep while chewing.

I also can't fall asleep while taking minutes. Although I admit some concern about reading them when I type up the official copy tomorrow.

Wow! You sure get a lot more done when you're not sleeping than I do when I'm not sleeping! But here's hoping for the blessings of Morpheus upon you, from a fellow insomniac. Btw, "can't sleep while chewing"? Don't bet on it. I fell asleep while I was in labor once, which all the books assured me could not be done.

I'm a crazy person. I can't stand lying there, not being productive. *sigh*
