Spot the happiness in this post
Bah.
I hoped to take the KCI Roadrunner shuttle to and from the airport this weekend to save the hassle of driving (both ways) in KC rush hour traffic. I know, KC traffic is "nothing" compared to the traffic in most big cities. Blah blah blah oh-lookit-me-from-the-big-city. Whatever. I don't care. I don't like driving in it, no matter how tame it may seem to others. But there are no shuttles from the airport between the hours of 6:00 and 10:00 a.m. So I'd be stuck at the airport for three hours on Monday morning. No thanks. Looks like I'm driving after all. Yuck. Sure hope it doesn't storm while I'm gone.
Gmail has a "feature" that puts some sort of link (recipes, news stories, websites) at the top of one's main Gmail page. One of today's links was a quote by a motivational speaker named Shakti Gawain. Shakti Gawain??? I mean, I am all for cross-cultural exposure, but Shakti Gawain? I...I just...I...I have no words. Nnngg.
Here's a bit of annoyance: Pyramid Pizza got bought and sold and the new owners have about half the topping selection as the old guys. No almonds, no sun-dried tomatoes, no spinach, and of course that means the old specialty pizzas aren't available anymore either. Suxxor.
auroraceleste came over to talk costuming last night and alas, the pizzas were just not as good as they used to be--and they're more expensive. So now that's Pyramid and Bigg's BBQ crossed off my local restaurant list. Geez! It's like the universe is telling me I should, you know, cook more often.
Speaking of, I made a meatloaf last night when I couldn't sleep, so now there are lots of sammich-makings in the fridge. Yay.
Thankfully,
auroraceleste was wonderful company, didn't complain about the pizza, and we had a wonderful costume chat.
The yesterday-mentioned Girl Things finally made an entrance and I'm irritable and bitter about having to be at work today. I'm all puffy and I have a pimple on my chin. Meh.
