It Can't Happen Here
I have to admit, on a certain level, I love this: Police attack protesters in Pakistan. Not the horrible attack on the protesters, no, but for who is protesting:
"The opposition to emergency rule, which many here are describing as military rule, was led by lawyers, students and journalists. The main opposition political parties, however, mounted no immediate large-scale rallies or protests."
I'm quite certain that the main political parties in the U.S.A. would be happy to follow the example set by Pakistan's. But would our lawyers? Students? Journalists? Fascinating. The photo of the man in a suit lobbing back a tear gas grenade is nothing short of amazing.
