Thunder and rain

Crazy weather for February 5, but it goes with my mood.

The weather-proofing has worn off my boots. Of course I didn't realize this until I was halfway to campus. My feet were soaked by the time I got to work. I'm grateful for the blanket I have here. It's wrapped around my bare feet while my socks (and boots) dry out.

Brrr.

I hope I don't have to go to the bathroom anytime soon.

For future defense against Murphy's Law, can you leave a pair of fuzzy socks at work?

Yes, and I will certainly be doing that from now on. The other secretary said she always keeps an extra pair of shoes at work. There's something I never would have considered before, but certainly am now.

Oh yes -- one of my file drawers usually has a pair of shoes in it. Leather should be slathered with mink oil in the winter. The wet isn't good for leather.

I was supposed to purchase some leather treatment stuffs this weekend but blew off my trip downtown to the shoe shop when the weather got nasty on Sunday.

Bah.

That's what I get for being a weather wimp--cold, wet feets.

My winter boots are muck-boots so I take them off when I get to work and I have a pair of nice simple black slippers that I keep at work (along with a second pair of boot hooks to put my boots back on).
But then again I also have a t-shirt incase the day is to hot.

(I haven't forgotten about the umbrella swap, but turns out my small umbrella has a broken spoke so trying to find the other one I know is in this house somewhere.
