How did we get halfway through May already?
My sleep habits/needs are changing as I age. Age. Bah. I used to be at my best when I went to sleep around 9:30 and woke up at 5:30. Yesterday I was exhausted at 9:00 and threw in the white towel at 9:15. When the alarm went off at 6:00, I couldn't get up. I felt just as tired as I did when I'd gone to bed the night before. And I had a really bad dream between 6:00 and 7:00 (when I finally forced myself awake). The nights I get to bed at 10:30 or even as late as 11:00, I usually wake up before my alarm.
I'm going to start making myself stay up later, maybe by throwing in some light exercise an hour or so after dinner to get my blood moving.
But the dream: It was May 11 (I have no idea why that exact date) and it was snowing. I had rescued three baby bunnies and was keeping them in a box in the house. I stepped outside to listen to some friends of mine who were jokingly going around the neighborhood caroling. When I went back in, there were bunny parts strewn all over the house. Fetish (who was just a baby kitten when I'd gone to listen to my friends) had grown into her full adult self while I was outside and had killed all the bunnies. I was so upset I woke myself up. Bleh. Not a good start to the day.
Last night I finished the paintwork on the guns and tonight I weather them for their final treatment. I've really enjoyed painting these. I wish I had people on my xmas list would like these for gifts because damn they're fun to make, but there's no way I could charge enough for my time investment.
I also need to build something to keep the guns strapped to my thighs but still largely visible (so no pocket-type holster) because I won't be able to pull them out of the holster while off the Masquerade stage (con rules). I have a good idea of what I'm going to do for this. We'll see if it works in practice.
Tomorrow (or maybe tonight if things go quickly and well), I'll put the final touches on the garment parts of the costume. Thanks a million to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
stuology who brought me back some feathers from KC Costume. Things remaining to be done: Make garters to hold up skirts, find/make appropriate jewelry, determine what to do with lower arm decoration (gloves? gauntlets? bracelets? combo of the above?) and procure or make them.
Yesterday afternoon I went for a haircut. I told my stylist to leave the bangs but go ahead and be pretty ruthless with the back and sides. Now my hair is short like whoa. It's a good thing I'm not planning to wear any clip-in hair pieces this weekend because there is nothing to clip them to.
In two weeks, our offices are moving downstairs while the air-handling system is renovated. The construction crew will be removing everything from the floor to the ceiling tiles for the project. I came to work this morning and somebody had decided last night would be a good time to do the semi-annual carpet cleaning. *headdesk* People.

Oh, I got good information on the guns, btw. Thank you for the heads-up on that. Inger and I will make sure they're acceptably secure for hall-wanderings.
