Tired!
Somebody has decided that after fourteen years of jumping on the bed, she would rather claw at the edge of the bed to let me know she wants up. Oh HELL no. I'm nipping that right in the bud. When she did it at 1:00 a.m., I shooed her away with a sharp slap near her head (I didn't connect). When she did it again at 4:30 I got up, grabbed her, and locked her in the downstairs bathroom. I doubt this is an age thing. 1. She didn't act needy, this was very much "I'm bored and want attention" behavior. 2. She was on the bed and blinking innocently at me when I got out of the shower.
So last night scored about a three out of five on the restfulness scale. I didn't feel bad when the alarm went off at 6:00, but I'm really dragging now.
I hope I'm not too tired to get back to work on the belly dance costume this evening. *crosses fingers*
Yesterday morning was a wonderful breakfast and stroll around downtown with
adammaker. We stopped to gaze in the window of the new tea shope, Teapourro, and while we standing there (looking like Dickens-esque waifs) a man unlocked the front door and invited us in, despite the fact that they weren't supposed to open for another two hours. We spent about twenty minutes and ten dollars each. I highly recommend the Midsummer's Night Black Tea.
After hearing
roya_spirit's rumor of palm-sized hail headed towards Topeka, I took a look at weather.com and was again annoyed by the fact that Lawrence doesn't show up on their maps unless you zoom in. What's up with that? Tecumseh, McLouth, and Kanwaka show up, but not Lawrence? Come on. The map programmers must be K-State fans.
