T for Typical

My chigger/mosquito bites are finally clearing up. So last night while I was ironing, I somehow touched the iron to my stomach. Now I have a lovely inch and a half long burn right below my belly button. I'm still not sure how it happened. All I know is I was moving the iron to press down a waistband and felt "OW, what the?"

*sigh*

That's gonna leave a mark.

It hurt so bad I couldn't bear to put on non-workout pants (which is what I was wearing at the time--they were just riding a little low). And so I missed The Spook Lights show at the Taproom.

Boo.

If anyone's got anti-scar remedies, shoot 'em my way.

Oh, hun... boo.

I have used a combination of Vit E capsules and fresh aloe on 2nd degree exhaust pipe burns on my legs. There is no scar on either and they were very nasty burns.

Or you might ask Adam about the famous green oil.

Oh yes, you can bet I slapped Green Oil on that baby immediately. Gods bless Adam and his Green Oil.

My mom swears by Mederma.

Oh Honey. I'd second the vit E. Also natural type things that are marketed to recovering mommas to handle stretch marks.

All the empathy in the world. I have scar on my lower abdomen equidistant between my navel and my rose tattoo, from doing that exact thing to myself. And boy did it hurt.

The liquid Vitamin E with Wheat Germ I got at Whole Foods (on [livejournal.com profile] grnvixen's suggestion, as that's what she used on the scar on her neck left by Thyroid surgery) is working pretty damn well on the Frankentitty.

Vitamin E mixed halfsies with Neosporin.

Ow, ow, ow! Ditto on the vitamin E plus neosporin.

Also, penny royal oil (NOT essense) for bruises. *nods*

So says the klutz.

Drink lots of water; that will help.

Oh, OWA! I join the committee recommending the Vitamin E - the oil I have for stretch marks, which has worked wonders to prevent them, is Vitamin E based...

As everyone else has said: V-E oil :), preferably with a little wheat germ oil. The trick is to use it regularly and often (2-3 times a day minimum), and keep using it even after it looks healed. It will still take a while to totally disappear but perhaps, once it is healed enough, you could disquise it with a henna tattoo around it?

No remedies, just a thought that had it been me I would've burned just under my boobs. There's something to be said for not being 5'2"...you can hide iron burns. :-)
