Aches and pains
I got another bad headache/sorta migraine yesterday. I left work around noon-ish. My right eye was throbbing all the way back to my neckbones, with a ray of Pure Hate that brushed my top molars and made them ache so bad that they're still a little tender. I took a two-hour nap, which relieved it to the point where I was mildly functional, if slow. This morning the pain-path is still slightly sore, but not overwhelmingly so. I think it was the weather change, coupled with my period, which finally started today, after nearly a week of false threats.
Here's hoping the headache doesn't come back, and this is a light period. I've got this to look forward to over the weekend and I don't want to be crampy and full of migraine badness. I've already bought two types of earplugs to avoid zill-headache issues.
I'm glad that
roya_spirit is driving. I think I would've had to cancel my plans if there was the possibility of me being stuck at the side of the road with a headache on the way there or back. Yesterday I couldn't even walk from work, and had to get a ride home. Yuck.
Speaking of aches, but of a different sort, please take a moment to read Coilhouse's essay on the passing of Prop 8 in California. It's heartbreaking that this passed, by such a staggering margin, with minorities contributing strongly to the vote. But Mer posts a beautiful essay of hope and love. Go read it. Thank you to Coilhouse for the reminder of this:
First they ignore you,
then they laugh at you,
then they fight you,
then you win.
