Cancelled
To those of you with whom I'd spoken about possible birthday festivities on Saturday, I regret to inform you that I've nixed all plans to do anything. I am not going to go outside any more than I have to, and I'm not going to ask anyone else to go outside for me.
I hate having my birthday during the winter. Have I mentioned?
Last year I decided to have my birthday (observed) on July 31. That didn't happen. In a fit of self-delusional fancy, I thought I'd go ahead and have a birthday party for this year. I'll be 39, and the date falls on a Saturday, so why not?
This morning it was three degrees with a windchill of negative eleven. That's why not. The weather forecasts show a possibly nice weekend, but I'd rather just not deal with it.
Maybe in July.

Summer is a good idea though. Maybe you could just celebrate on the half-year anniversary of your birth instead of the whole year? That might include Labor Day weekend some years.

Oh hells no. I would never plan something on KCRF opening weekend.
July. Definitely July.

Winter birthdays are the suck.

Mine is in November, so I know how you feel. As a kid, I never got to have a "friend" birthday party because our house was too small, and who wanted to hang outside the middle of November . . . It also meant not getting fun outdoor (summer) toys.

Even if it does warm up.
But I'm in for whenever you do decide to celebrate.
