My parents arrive for a weekend visit tomorrow morning. We have lots of activities planned that involve an exhibit at Union Station, fun restaurants, and general walking about.

So of course I woke up at 2:45 a.m. today with a nasty head cold. Massively sore throat, plugged up nose, headache and overall weariness.

If I feel better by the time I get off work, I will totally drink with you tonight. But maybe I'll bring over some wine and we can drink in the cemetery? Oh, but maybe you want to get out of the house...

FYI, the martinis at TEN have gone downhill lately. Sadness.

Pretty sure alcohol kills germs, but not viruses. OTOH, if your alcohol does kill anything, you'll already be at the cemetery so you can just leave them there.

Uh, I guess I'm out of it because I don't even know what TEN is. I was thinking about the martinis at the Pig. Yes, being amongst people would be nice, out in the public. We can see how you feel. I plan to have an extended celebration, so we can always do it another time.

Ooo! I've never had martinis at the Pig. TEN is the restaurant bar at the Eldridge. They have half price martinis on Thursdays, but the last two times I went they were pretty chintzy with the booze.

I spoke with someone over in the Comptroller's office today who has something nasty and viral. Her doc has seen a lot of it recently at it's lasting 1 - 2 weeks!

And yesterday, someone else on campus told me he's out with pneumonia.
