I'm really looking forward to breakfast at the moment
First off, Fetish is doing better. Yes, another bladder infection. Well, the vet says probably the same one that never really went away. Since the antibiotic shot didn't work, I have to give her this liquid stuff in an eyedropper twice a day. That's not a lot of fun, but so far she's taking it better than pills. In fact, right now she's curled up on my lap and I'm having to sort of hunch over the keyboard so she doesn't get squashed by the desk. She just made a little squeak and shifted her weight--trusting that I won't let her fall. Good kitty.
How is it that I lived this long without experiencing the deliciousness of steel cut oats? If I make them with half milk half water I don't even need to add any sweeteners. They're just...amazing. Amazing! Wow. So worth the thirty minute cook time. I need to look up one of those crock pot recipes so I can cook them overnight. I believe Heidi Swanson has one on 101cookbooks somewhere, along with some ideas for toppings/additions.
I successfully completed a week of Up Day Down Day eating. Tracking my Down Day food in FitDay, I ensured that I didn't go over 500 calories a day on Down Days. On Up Days, I eat whatever I want to, sticking with whole foods guidelines, and no refined grains or sugars (except for booze). I eat like a normal healthy person on Up Days, which means I'm eating 500 to 800 calories more than I would if I was doing a daily calorie restricted eating program. The biggest downer is the 500 calorie limit on Down Days doesn't allow for any booze. And on Friday evening that really sucks. But I'm seeing good results scale-wise, which is a nice change from the zero pounds lost all through January when I was watching food intake every day.
I'm still bloating every time I eat though. Very discouraging. Also still coughing and I am pretty sure it's not allergies, damn it.
Less than a month to go before my Spring Break vacation.
mckitterick and I are going to try to make it down to the Cosmosphere (weather permitting), and then I'm going to spend the rest of a blissful week alone in the house and not seeing or talking to anyone (well, except
mckitterick) until I return to work. I might go out and party on St. Pat's, but mostly I need me some alone time, for real.

I so sympathize with the food issues. I have a small basketball for a stomach right now and I'm miserable because the Probiotics are no longer helping. :( I can feel that it's just bloaty gaseousness. ARgh.
But mmmmm.. alone time. So envy your time off. I'm pretty sure that if I could only work 4 days a week, I'd be so much happier at home.

Align only worked for a week or so with me, too. I'm trying GSE right now, even though I've heard very mixed reviews. I've only been using it for a few days, so I haven't noticed a difference yet. I'll keep you posted.
I would love a four-day work week under any conditions. Even if that meant ten-hour workdays.
