The planet in charge of weather is in opposition--or is that retrograde?
My frock coat is done except for the trim and buttonholes. Final problem: The markings for the pocket slits are way too low. Much, much lower than is shown on the pattern cover drawing. So I have pockets just above my knees. If I'd put pockets on the muslin, I'd have figured this out before slitting the good fabric, but I didn't even put cuffs on the muslin. It's fine, though. This is exactly why I wanted to make a muslin and a final finished product for myself before I made the one for
femfataleatron. I've got all the problems figured out now and his garment should come off swimmingly. The only thing different will be the sizing. It'll be interesting to work with a coat that's approximately twice the size of mine.
I don't want to go back to work tomorrow.
I need to start working on the covered buttons, but I need to go to Hancock Fabrics to buy the kit(s). Shockingly, I do not have forty 1" covered button blanks. I'm not sure when I'll be able to make it out there. And I'm going to miss yoga this week after finally getting back to class for the first time last week.
Stupid, stupid combo of broken Saab and snow is interfering with my ability to get things done. Bless
roya_spirit who took me on a quick run to the grocery store while she was out on her errands yesterday.
