Money Money Money
I got a phone call this morning from my dad. Just a quick hello-and-I-love-you before he and Mommy got on their plane. To Italy. Sigh. Ciao, daddio. I'm consoling myself with the knowledge that the cost of going to Italy would be about the same as getting one of my eyes done. Next time I travel abroad, I won't have to lug around my contact lens stuff. Right?
This week, I used TurboTax online for the first time. Sweet Jesus, why did it take me so long to try it? I don't have any deductions, I don't itemize stuff, and I make less than $30,000, so I qualified for the free federal filing and the cheap ($14.95) state filing. Totally worth it. I didn't even have to use a calculator. It was awesome.
Last night at yoga class, I decided that yes, I am going to enroll in Gopi's teacher training program that starts in September. I just have to scrape together half of the tuition fee that's due up front. I'm already dipping into savings for the LASIK surgery. I'm not going to do that for the yoga training.
With that in mind: Anyone who wants bloomers or chemise sewing done for KCRF this year, I'm your girl. Next month I'll have (I hope) some killer new venise lace styles. For a bit extra, I can dye the lace in a color of your choice. Fancy panties, girls! Because my weekends are already pretty full through July, I'm going to say no new customers for bodices. I don't have a weekend day to devote to drafting a pattern, sorry.
Heads-up,
tama_grey, I might be working on some of your backlog of dance costume requests! Let me know if you've changed your mind about anything, or if you want to cancel something.

I need chemises and bloomers--can I get on your schedule?

D'you wanna supply your own fabrics, or should I start shopping? This is the time to start hunting for cotton gauze for chemises. If you wait for May, it'll all be gone from the shelves. I know you're limited for time at the mo', so if you need me to, I can go shopping for you if you trust my eye for color.

and yah, Turbo Tax rocks.. only one minor thing, for some reason, they don't allow the annual property tax for vehicles in Kansas, but I do believe we can claim that.

We have one gig May 1/2 and that's it for now so schedule me in around others with more pressing dates.

I'm sure you'll have more stuff to do because you're a home-owner, but I imagine it's still easier than doing it yourself.

Actually, even the more expensive one is free to use, you just have to pay to file.
I've been using it for awhile. Love it. My employer even has the ability to download my W-2 info. I didn't even fill that in.
