Today is the last day of classes for MWF teachers. Three people have stopped by my office this morning to tell me they brought doughnuts to class and leftovers are in the break room. I suspect tomorrow's being the last day of TR classes, things will be much the same.



The universe is taunting me.

Seriously! I thought the whole point of free food was that students were supposed to pile it on napkins and cart it away? Apparently they didn't get the memo.

I'm amazed at how students don't dig in like they used to anymore. It's a very weird cultural shift. Can't say it's a bad thing, it's just odd. And it's taking a while for the previous generation to grasp it--and buy less food.

I think it's also dependent on what variety of food is being offered. Last year we always provided cookies for events and they wouldn't last five minutes. This year it's brownies and people barely touch them. I have no idea why the difference since ten (full-sized, gooey chocolate chip) cookies don't have fewer calories than one brownie, even though the students appear to think this.

Woah, freaky! One of my coworkers kept coming in and out of my room while I was teaching and she finally brought me a (delicious) red cake doughnut as a way of apologizing. Apparently, there were leftovers in the teacher's lounge.
