Lip Balm Public Service Announcement
I am a fiend for lip balm. I can't imagine life without it. I've carried at least one tube of it around with me at all times since I got my first purse (it had a kitty appliqué and white plastic pearl beads) at age eight.
My love of lip balm might be genetic. My mother has at least one tube of lip balm in every room of the house. Except for maybe the guest bedroom, although she might have one stashed there, too. It wouldn't surprise me.
Anyway. Lip balm. It's crucial. Crucial. And now, after nearly thirty years, I have found My Perfect Lip Balm. It goes on smooth but not greasy, doesn't get all smeary, doesn't make my lips peel (like that Burt's Bees stuff--ugh), and it's locally owned! Talk about a grand slam.
The Lavender flavor is pictured, but so far my favorite is Grapefruit.
You can purchase them online, but I recommend making the trek to the Lawrence Farmer's Market, if you can. You get five for $5.00 at the market.
I'm considering throwing away the rest of my lip balm collection (in which I have no small financial investment). Because none of them, none of them, are as awesome as Anthony's Beehive balms.
My lips have never felt better.

And I've started buying a bunch every time I find a lip balm I like. Those companies seem to be particularly susceptible to going out of business. Alas! Thanks for sharing while they're still around so we can bump up their business. ;)

That's horrible that Burt's Bees makes your lips peel. I wonder what's in there that causes that. It's my classic lip balm, so that's extra concerning.

:reaches in drawer, dab dab, smear:
Don't they do custom balms/labels as well?

Well, I know they do custom balms. Not sure about the labels.

When I left Lawrence, I took about five tubes of his lip balm with me; I found one in a drawer a few months ago and put it on. The flavor's faded, but it's still smacky and good for lips.
Thanks for letting me know I can find their stuff online. It was some of the best honey I ever had.
Much love,
Rowan
