I haz a style!

Hair, post-party and with tired eyes.

This is my eighty-millionth attempt at doing smoky eye makeup, and my first since watching this pretty effing awesome tutorial on how to do it. I need to use higher pigment eyeshadow. I might toss a lot of my cheap drugstore colors. I love the way they look in the pot, but the colors are never that vibrant on my skin. You get what you pay for.

I'm super happy with my haircut. This morning was the Experiment in Air-drying on the walk to work and it passed with flying colors. Behold:

My sad little old (cheap) camera wouldn't pick up the texture of my hair without washing out my face so pardon the overexposure and poor Photojob of burning-in of my face. Look at the hair!

Natural light will win over a tiny flash no matter what your photographing.

You just gotta find something that works for straight hair! There are tons of options out there, and most people have to suffer with a straight-iron to achieve them.

Seems like it happened overnight, didn't it? But it's been a long road. This was taken in January 2009 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/3199986500/in/set-72157611086011596/), about four months after my last shorty-short cut. This is October 2009 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/4046581875/in/set-72157613202977424/), right before I had Ashley even everything out to one length (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/4089630483/in/set-72157613202977424/) in November 2009. I didn't have a haircut between January and October, and I hadn't had a haircut since that November trim.

Maybe it seems fast to you because I haven't been tracking it with daily photos anymore. Seems to me like it's taken forever. I'm shooting for at least mid-back length.

Wish I could share my good hair fortune with you. =(

OMG, your hair looks FABULOUS. SO JEALOUS. Your hair? I should've had that hair. My dad has black wavy hair (or had, at this juncture in his life) but nooooooooo, I got mom's baby fine ashy light brown blah stick hair. BOOOOO.

If you wake up one morning with no hair, it is not because I stole it to implant on my head. *shifty eyes*

Through no efforts of my own, I won the genetic dice roll when it came to face and hair genes. I got my mom's skin and hair color and my dad's hair texture. It was all luck, but I've always been grateful!

Wow. You look amazing. I love it on many levels. I could totally be jealous of your thick, naturally wavy tresses but I long ago came to terms with my fine, straight hair.

Selfishly, I can use your success to convince myself to hang in during the dreadful growing out of my own hair. So thanks for being an example.
