Clothes horse
I transferred my seasonal wardrobe weekend. It felt so good to box up my summer clothes, of which I am simply sick to tears. Ugh! Enough with the colorful novelty prints, already. Done. Done, done, done.
I believe I have enough sweaters. If I mention wanting to go thrifting for sweaters, tackle me and beat some sense into me. Good god. I'm in rather desperate need of skirts, though. Gotta get to work on that. I have four that are in decent shape, but I'm not sure how (if) many of them will fit. I'm wearing one right now, but it's a little big and is sliding around. I keep winding up with the side seam just to the left of my navel. I'm good for tights, and (surprise!) socks. I thought I needed to go sock-shopping, but I found about a dozen new, still-in-their-packaging socks from a long-ago Target clearance. Yay!
Still on the wish list: Field boots, some short boots that are somewhat practical, and a new garter belt. On the sewing list: skirts, and blouses to wear under these myriad sweaters.
Does anyone else get excited about their wardrobe shift? I dread the coming winter, but it's so nice to put away clothes I've been wearing for six months (so spoiled, I know!). Unpacking old clothes for the new season is such a treat. I know by the end of March, I'll be just as bored with what's now in the closet. But at the moment, I feel like I have more wardrobe options than I know what to do with and it's fantastic.

And I'm ready to have my feet enclosed again, so so ready. Love my boots, love to wear them again.
Except for today, of course, 80 DEGREES WHAT?!!

I always expect one last huzzah of the previous season's temperatures when I do the wardrobe-transfer. It's why I'm always so wary to pull out the summer clothes and always leave a few warm outfits unpacked.
edit: good lord, enough alwayses?

Weather always going to change up in October.
hee.
Me too, I leave a few of the old tank tops out since I can layer them later and then stuff them in the rag bin once I want to gag if I ever see them again.
And I consistently (note the clever avoidance of the a-word) keep a black tank over the winter for those oh-so-rare sweaty dance nights out.

I just ordered three pairs of boots from Zappos. It is not my intention to keep them all, but I've been wrong before. I ordered two pairs of Keens and one pair of Merrills, all black, all practical for the cooler months, all quite flat about the heel, all waterproof.
I really want to put an apostrophe in the name Zappos, but Zappo's appears nowhere on my confirmation email. Oh, well.

The second would be nice to have, but I am restraining spending right now.

I have not had boots for several years. I don't know if I'm going to just give in this year....

And now that I'm armed with a job, all my winter stuff which is entirely too big will get replaced with clothes that fit me. W00t!

At a minimum, I will be going to this store (http://www.backattheranch.com/), and while I'm there, looking at these (http://backattheranch.com/cgi-bin/bootman/page.cgi?g=Detailed/304.html;t=boots;window=1;d=#).
I mean, just look at it...I wish I were there now... :D
ETA: Of course, I'm not going to buy them, not at that fucking price.
I'll be much more likely to actually buy something here (http://kowboyz.com/), at the bargain basement.
