Calling this game
I'm calling it quits on this current Whole30.
I want a glass of wine when I get home tonight, and I'm going to have a glass of wine when I get home tonight.

Would it be a complete bust if you hopped back on it tomorrow and just call it a one day off?

It's not like it was a competition or anything. I just didn't complete this one. I learned what I needed to (limit nuts, and booze only once or twice a week). If I feel like trying it again at a later date, I shall.
Edit: Did that sound catty? Wasn't intended. Sorry!

haha! Now you know I wouldn't take it that way.
I think limiting nuts is good on Soooo many levels ;)

It's all good. No harm, no foul here.
You missed my meaning on "limiting nuts".. I meant nuts in the way of goofy ass people, LOL.
Muchos huggos.
and.. *clink* I'm having a small glass to offset the pain pill effect of getting bunged up.

The trouble with most dieting including mine is that we see one slip as a quit, when it really isn't. Last diet I went out to lunch with John Daniel every Sunday, eating modestly off whatever menu. It was not "on my diet", but the diet was successful with these little weekly excursions.

I learned what I needed to out of it, and am moving on from here!

I haven't researched the difference fully because they don't mesh with my needs and preferences, but it seems like the Whole30 is the more intensive 'challenge/reset' program where the Whole9 is more of a guideline to daily eating, right?
It would seem that the Whole30 is best done when you're not under other external stresses, and if other stresses put you in a situation where adhering to the Whole30 becomes an additional load on you, it's patently *not* doing what it's supposed to be doing. Once it stops improving your life and becomes an onerous set of restrictions, then it's not helpful any more, and I think you're smart to shift back to your regular healthy eating pattern, since it's supportive and healthy for you.
Sorry you're having a rough week. I can *really* relate.
Much love,
Rowan

Sorta. Whole9 is the consultation/trainer business for Melissa Urban and Dallas Hartwig. Whole30 is their hardcore/clean-it-up eating program, which even they don't do 100% all the time!

You got it on those nose. Thank you for putting it so succinctly and accurately!

I only wound up drinking about a quarter cup, but it was nice.

So, I started putting half-n-half in my coffee again, and my appliances no longer think I'm an idiot. I think.

Man, I miss being able to drink Iwig heavy cream...that's the one piece of information I didn't appreciate after cleaning up my eating act.

I tried drinking cream, and it was a little too much for me. Perfect in coffee though. But the whole milk? Hmm....

OMG yum. In case you haven't yet explored the wonderfulness that is cocoa with milk, let me just say: DO IT. The milk adds all the mildness needed to make the unsweetened cocoa drinkable, and the concoction tastes like fine hot cocoa. Well, I guess it is, really, isn't it? Yum.
Anyhow: No sugar but all the joy of chocolate. That's what I'm talking about.
