Black Angus Cinnamon Bites
I realized that Paleo-eating mindset had really sunk in when I saw this image on Dr. Boli and thought "Hm. Sounds tasty."

Maybe I'll try cinnamon instead of curry in the next batch of jerky.
Scott Sonnon says this on his blog today:
People must first correct their current imbalanced state before moving on to sophisticated movements. They must compensate for where they’re beginning, which is not at “zero” with some genetically/evolutionarily flawed spine. But with a series of compensations which must be unloaded to restore the body’s natural proclivity for movement.
I've been thinking about moving lately. Not moving as in pack-up-stuff-and-hire-a-truck. Moving as in getting my ass off the couch and starting some serious sweat. I know I've been saying that forever, but I'm moving pretty slow these days--mentally, physically, emotionally. Everything's slow. I'm trying to think of it as baby steps and not beating myself up for being a fucking lazy-ass slacker.
mckitterick had his exercise enthusiasm triggered this week. I'm hoping to osmosis-off some of his excitement.

Cinnamon jerky sounds lovely.....or maybe ginger? I would bring meat to your house for ginger jerky...

I used a lot of cinnamon in the deer and I wasn't so thrilled.. too sweet. But maybe that was with the sweet potatos making it more so.
Beef would probably be a better bet.
I need to get moving, too. This ennui is hideous and making me feel really crazy.
The other night I came up with a phrase for the way I feel lately.. vicious apathy, as in:
I rip you a new one, if I can just get up off this sofa.

Ha! Seriously. I know.
If we get together this weekend, let's put on some good quarter-time CDs and do some partner-dancing around your kitchen. Lemme know if I should bring the old country & western tunes or if you've got a good enough collection.

I think I probably have enough that's usable, but feel free to bring CDs or a flash drive. I'm supposed to have a way to plug into the DVD player that I haven't tried out yet.

Cool! I just ran across the Firmware/(no longer)Support page for those and bookmarked them. I need to do an updated Sync on mine with the new music, thanks for the reminder!

Also known as "Your minor transgression makes me irrationally angry enough to move. Almost."
That's when I know to start staying away from the Internet, because it just builds into a froth of angry at all the stupid people and I flail helplessly in my head for a while.
Hope things are better soon!
Much love,
Rowan

See, I keep that shit canned and stored for emergencies. If I'm not currently stewing about the idiocy of humanity, I just feel...off, somehow.
This is a jest, if you weren't sure. Sort of. Maybe.

Don't mind me, I'll just be over here in my culinary happy place, sighing.
I use a cinnamon-chipotle-cocoa mix to dust meringue cookies, and call 'em "Sass cookies." They're generally a huge hit. I tend to be a fan of the liberal use of molé-style spicing. Living in Austin means I have a liberal scattering of good molé options.
I have seen chicken jerky so I know it can be done, but I really want to try salmon jerky. I've seen a lot of amazing recipes for dried salmon, both sweet and spicy.
Much love,
Rowan

moving
and moving towards moving.
i think that having spent the past year plus some exercising poppet i have given myself a decent start. what to do next is the big question. quite keen on getting the prehensile feet with the foot gloves. my friend lucy lives round the corner from the shop i am planning to go to and fancies coming with. she is out of town for a few days, but when she comes back i will go from hers. it will be good to make a mini trip from her house, less tiring, and maybe also fun. i already have quite mobile feet, it will be good to capitalise on that, i think.

(Thanks again, by the way! This has been one of the best learning experiences of my life. From January 3, I'm down around 20 pounds.)
