Create or destroy

I don't know if I'll:

1. Do something creative in the crafty room today (journal entry, art card, or other crafty project)

or

2. Clean the house

It says a lot about my creative motivation that the two sound equally (un)appealing right now.

We have a work-related reception at the house at the end of the month, so I have to do a serious scrub-down then, too, and I'm uncertain I want to do another big clean so close on the heels of the other. Seems like wasted effort.

I have no idea what I want to do. I'm an adult, I could say fuck-it to everything and just go walk around downtown. But even that's not inspiring me enough to get off the couch.* It didn't help that I checked the weather forecast (to see if the weather would be amenable to wandering around downtown) and saw the rain-to-snow predicted for tonight.

Maybe I'll paint another water gun.** That would be nice and crafty while not making too much of a mess. Which (I just realized) is my main de-motivator from hauling out everything necessary for doing a visual journal entry.

*Metaphorical couch. I'm actually perched on the bar stool in front of my cutting table since that's where I do internet stuff now.

**These aren't my guns. Mine are less grungy steampunky-looking and more shiny Flash Gordon ray gun-looking, but I couldn't find any good pics of mine apart from these from the Orientalist costume.

I love painting them, but have minimal storage/display opportunities. Perhaps I'll open an Etsy store of my own. =)

I've spent my entire evening trying to figure out what I wanted to do. I did some things that needed done, but I'm pretty sure I didn't do anything I wanted to do. I hope you had better luck!

We wound up going out for lunch, and then my afternoon was spent prepping food for the week, so I suppose I got to be a little lazy and creative, both! =)

I think Tom Davies is going to have a vendor table ConQuest. Might be something to cross-market? Tables are $60, but it would probably be a good crowd for that sort of thing.

Huh. Maybe I'll drop him a line. Pretty awesome he's planning to go to ConQuesT. I can always use another drink and snark buddy.
