Headed down
This is the second day in a row that I've felt exhausted in the early afternoon. Yesterday, around 2:00, I had to give up and shut my door so I could lie down for a bit. I didn't have time to fall asleep, but I just had to lie down. I couldn't keep my eyes open at my desk.
Today, I'm starting to get tired again, a wee bit before 1:30. And I even got to sleep in this morning (until 8:00!) because I had physical therapy at 9:00.
I'd been feeling so great for a couple months (especially when I'm going in for weekly acupuncture). Guess I had to crash sometime. I've been watching the scale, too, and I'm starting to gain weight, despite being super strict about minimal fruit and booze and upping my exercise (up three pounds this month, and up one inch around my waist).
Bummer.
Yesterday, I called Lawrence's only endocrinologist to see if she was taking new patients. The process went like this: Called listed number. Was told that wasn't the right number. Was given the right number. Was told I would be transferred to the correct line. Reached the office. Asked receptionist if doctor was taking new patients. Was told I would have to ask a nurse. Left a voice mail with nurse. Twenty-four hours later, I haven't heard back.
Not feeling especially positive about that avenue of treatment. I've had my fill of non-responsive doctors, thanks. Doctors Khosh are looking like my final option. And that's not really helping my attitude, either.

Jbird was sent to that endo.. she only works there a couple days a week from Topeka, or something.
He was not impressed, she was pretty much a
by the drug company propagandaby the book 'specialist' when it came to his diabetes, and gave him instructions to way the hell overdo his insulin that led him into some really shitty low levels.Maybe she's different with thyroid issues?

Grace gave me the name and number of her awesome guy in Olathe (or Lenexa? Whatever.). I might give him a call on Monday.

I agree.
It took Jbird's doc a good three months to get him an appt.
I mean, really, they sent him paperwork to fill out and bring with him THREE MONTHS before they could get him in to see this doc.
Endocrinologist
Quick history: My mom has been coding medical records for 30 years, and definitely has her opinions about certain hospitals, doctor groups, etc. She reads medical journals, researches, and in her own way is a "Truth Seeker" and really has no problem asking why or just telling someone no.
So anyways, that's too bad - esp for a college town that is very surprising. The doctor I had before that was Dr Daniel Stewart. He actually thought I was a "fun case"...

I believe they have other doctors there as well as they are a group - as I understand it. So if you can't get in to see her, they can set you up with the next available. :) I hope this helps.
