He's a DJ
Last night I went to hear former LAZR DJ Ray Velasquez spin at Replay Lounge. I used to listen to his show back in the day, and it was a treat to actually see him. He was incredibly friendly and generous. When he saw me sitting at a table by myself, he came over to introduce himself. I told him I'd come because I'd been a fan of his show, and he invited me to come sit up at the table with his friends. Most of them were former DJs at the Sanctuary, but one of was a just a friend from NYC who'd come with Ray to check out this Lawrence place of which Ray spoke so fondly. He and I hit it off great and chatted for nearly the entire three hours. It was a really good time! I'm glad I went. I even got to do a bit of dancing! Nice.
Today's opening day for KCRF. I'm super glad not to be dancing. Thank goodness for Mitti being able to dance today. What with all the other Smoker details, it's nice to know I'll just be running tables. No pressure, whew! Thank goodness also for not having to be at morning meeting, or performing all day before Smoker. Sitting on the couch, catching up on LJ and email, thinking about probably getting into makeup sometime after 10:30...bliss.
