First I have to FIND the fork

Stick a fork in KCRF 2011. All done. Feels good. Smoker went out with a big old bang on Sunday. We had a record (and fire code) breaking 180+ in the audience and a record number of musicians in Egotista. Check it:
Egotista 10-16-11

We rocked the house. It was awesome. Most of the people in the photo are at least occasionally at Hippie Drumming Circle on Thursday night. Cool group, eh? They're all fantastic and I can't thank them enough for coming out to play for me. None of them are on LJ, but thank you, guys.

I need to get a camera that takes better photos in a variety of situations. I've finally got to where my self-portraits don't suck with the one I got earlier this year when my beloved EasyShare died, but anything in weird lighting (like under the KCRF Feast Hall tent) or shot from a distance (like landscape shots that aren't in 100% glorious sun) are complete crap. I don't want to take this camera on vacation somewhere, only to be disappointed with all my trip's photos.

The insomnia is back, which is not cool. I had to take Drastic Measures last night to finally fall asleep, and then when I started to drift off, random noises kept waking me. I am not a light sleeper, so I don't know what the hell is going on. This morning, when the alarm started to come on (I have a clock that slowly lights up, so the wake-up alert is very gradual), I turned it off and lay in bed for a moment, thinking how tired I was. The next thing I knew, it was forty-five minutes later and I had twenty minutes to get ready. Good thing I packed up my breakfast and lunch the night before.

Tonight is Club Bellydance in KC, hosted by [livejournal.com profile] miischelle and featuring a few local dancers and some of the Belly Dance Super Stars. Thank goodness [livejournal.com profile] roya_spirit is driving, because I know for a fact I'm not going to be fit to operate a motor vehicle come evening. Want me to bring some loud music, hon?

The new journal subtitle is thanks to the incomparable [livejournal.com profile] shrijani. XOXO

I love you and your picture is buggering up my f-page. :)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2011-10-18 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't be. It's under an LJ cut.

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2011-10-18 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Lj cuts sometimes don't work. This one apparently didn't.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2011-10-18 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you click on the cut text? That'll open the whole entry. If you don't want it to show on your whole f-page, either open the entry in a new window, or go back and refresh your f-page and then don't click the link.

Aha! I must have hit it when I first opened it and didn't notice.. my bad.
I've got it separated out, it's not so much that it's boinking the f-page, tis just that the text has to be scrolled to read your entry, and THAT'S probably these silly-ass teeny monitors we have here.

Not that it's any consolation, but..
Even my good little Canon had trouble with the lighting under the tent, too.
That's such a damned cool panaorama shot!

Music.. always a yes!

That's really good to know. Hm. Maybe I should practice more with taking long-distance pics in regular lighting, like I did with my self-portraits.

Music.. always a yes!

I think with more motivation (and a better economy) we could market ourselves as a traveling act. I hope it's not just my own vanity saying that those musicians and I work really great together.

You and Egotista make the smoker for me. I tune out everything that happens on that stage because I'm so focused on the patrons but I find myself watching you dance every day for at least a minute or two.

Thanks for sharing your talents, and your friendship.

Aw.

*blush*

I'll pass along the sentiments to the rest of gang when I see them on Thursday.

I know what you mean: I could watch her dance and listen to Egotista every day!

You and Egotista ROCK the show! We couldn't do it with out you! Thank you SO MUCH.

Likewise, darling. Likewise.
