No kids
The kids didn't come back for the candy last night. Sadness.

Great, now you have candy you don't want AND sadness. :(

The candy is easy enough to ditch (hello, office candy jar). But the sadness of disappointing the kids still stings.

They will recover. It is a momentary disappointment for them, and they will not be scarred in any way. When you realize this, it will help you relax.

It wouldn't be so bad if Halloween wasn't one of my two favorite holidays...and the fact that we've never had trick-or-treaters before has always made me sad.
This is really more about me than it is about them, I know.

I
am
still looking for those boots, but alas that website has them only in UK size 5 (I wear a UK size 7). Thank you for looking out for me, though!

They really wanted to come back, but their 'rents wouldn't let them.

This was my suspicion as well. I should have sent them home with a note.
