Shaping in the shape I'm in

Oh shit my lower body hurts. I pushed hard yesterday on lunges and man. The place where my g. max and IT band share a space is just stiff like whoa, and my piriformis is sore even to the touch. I knew I'd maybe gone a little overboard with the lunges (I just typed that as "lunches"--twice) when I looked in the mirror to re-do my ponytail and noticed my chin was red. When I do walking lunges (JFC I did it again), I hold my hands in front of me, with one hand wrapped around the other's fist, and I tap them gently against my chest as a "go go go go" motivation. Apparently my hands migrated up (makes sense, I'm encouraging myself to stand up-up-up on each lunge) and I had been bumping my chin. Fairly hard. Ooops.

Some serious stretching is definitely on the menu. As is some exended low-impact movement later this morning. No, not that, you dirty, dirty people. Honestly. Where do you get these ideas? Shameless things.

I was looking at some old pictures of me when I was what I considered to be my most fit and realized that you know what? This body is never going to be what I consider the most attractive body shape on a woman. I'm not a pear shape, and ain't nothing I can do to get there. I'm an hourglass, and a rather solidly-built one at that, despite my small bones. I need to revise my ideas of Personal Best Body. Hmph. I tried to find an example to link, but the inclusion of "hourglass" into an image search brought up way too many black widow spider pictures, and I couldn't deal. Sorry.

Wow, even my abs are a little tender. I must be doing something right.

I'm on the hunt for used copies of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and Britney Spears's "Femme Fatale" albums. I can't quite bring myself to ask Kelly at Lovegarden to order them, and I can't say I'm thrilled about paying full price for either. I want only one or two songs off each album, but I want the full CD quality. So downloading MP3s is not an option. Sometimes it's really inconvenient to be an audiophile.

Okay, you know what? To be honest, I like pretty much all the singles that've been released from the "Teenage Dream" CD. So maybe I can suck it up and buy that one. But some of the stuff on Britney's just makes me cringe. One of them came on the radio just now and I had to turn it off. I can sit through freaking commercials, people, but I cannot bear to have her "Criminal" song assault my ears. This song, though? This song is the shit:

How have I never made a "music" tag before now?

HDTracks.com sells lossless files, but has a smaller selection than iTunes which (as I'm sure you know, hence the need for this post) is at 256 kbps. I think you're right that your best bet for higher quality than that is to buy the CD.

This is very good information about HDTracks.com, and I did not have it, so Thank You! I am going to go check it out Right Now.

Update: Alas, they are snobby little snob things and do not offer trashy pop music on their menu. Still, a very good resource if I want single songs from more highbrow albums.

That is not really their fault. The music labels dictate it, not the sites that sell it.

Another reason to hate music labels.

Email me your address, I think I have both sitting around somewhere (I know Katy Perry).

"Criminal" is offensively lame. I actively dislike quite a few of the songs off of Femme Fatale that her people have decided to release as singles.

Here are the songs from Femme Fatale that I do like:

"Till the World Ends"
"Hold It Against Me"
"Inside Out"
"(Drop Dead) Beautiful"
"Seal It With a Kiss"
"Trouble for Me"
"He About to Lose Me"

I was disappointed in Teenage Dream, but I suppose the songs that are good are worth it. I really hate the song "Firework," despite because of its anthemy emotional lift and bullshit lyrics. It's like a John Williams film score, but in a pop song. Blech.

Aw, I like the Firework song! But E.T. is by far my favorite. I kind of like The One That Got Away, too, but I bet the shine wears off on that one eventually.

I really like the songs "Teenage Dream" and "Who Am I Living For." I love Katy's voice. It sometimes makes me listen to "Firework" just because of the white girl vocal power. She belts; I approve.

There is also a CD Tradepost out here by the 6th st HyV where I've found great deals on music.

so basically, your ass hurts.

I need to work on carving my apple into more of a pear.

OK, went to youtube to see what "criminal" sounded like. :O reeeeeeallly terrible!!
