I needed another project

Oh, hey. I forgot to mention that I agreed to be a regular contributor to a new Tumblr blog:

feministfitness.tumblr.com. I won't (and don't) agree with everything posted there (the first recipe is for "Healthy Quesadillas" for godssake), but not everyone's going to agree with everything I have to say there, either.

My first post is here.

JFC I made a "writing" tag.

I liked it, good piece.

Thanks! I hope they continue to be ...well, readable at the very least. The idea of writing a weekly piece is terrifying.

AWESOMSAUCE!!!

plus I really really really liked your post!

Thank you, honey!

I accepted her offer to write regularly for it with the idea that it would encourage me to walk my talk a little more. =D

I loved it.
Definitely keep writing.

Thank you for the compliment and the encouragement!

I agree with all of the above. Chris has been supportive of improvements I make in the quality of shared meals, but will still fall into the mindset of "fourthmeal must be a shared experience, so here, help me eat this ice cream (or whatever)", so it's been an uphill battle. Your post gives me the encouragement to maybe just not BUY fourthmeal-like options. :) I wonder how well that'll go over...

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I make [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick buy his own sodas. =D But yeah. With rare exception, if I'm not eating it, I won't buy it.

When we descend to comfort-food "fourthmeal" type events, it's dried fruit and nuts. Not exactly health food, but at least it's not the poison we used to eat! You could always give that a try....

Of course, CR's method of making me buy my own Diet RC is another way to be non-enabling ;-)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Every time I think about dried fruit and nuts being our idea of junk food I laugh. Five years ago, would you have believed that?!?!

[identity profile] mckitterick.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, right?!

[identity profile] tessagratton.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I think by "healthy quesadillas" they just meant "quesadillas."

Also, yay! Congrats.

I think by "healthy quesadillas" they just meant "quesadillas."

SRSLY.

I love your post, (you know where I struggle). I have to admit, the jargon turns me off; thinspo, fitspo.. ugh! Thank you for not using any of that crap.

It's definitely not the place for eatspo, is it, haha!
At first those breakfast pix looked lovely, but I'm full of sadness at the ingredients of them all. That's okay, I have Melicious (http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com/)for that, thanks to you!
And my folks LOVED the cocoa-roasted cauli I made for them.
So..
WRITING! Go you!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hell, I had to google "thinspo." No intention of using it myself, no worries.

I get the feeling it's not a very paleo-friendly crowd.

Yet

.

=D

*snicker*

I had to google them too. I was amazed at how many entries I found. I like this person's (http://skinamarinky.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/fitspo-thinspo-healthspo-huh-2/) take on it.

Wondeful article - and I'm so pleased you find me supportive of your health goals. Your support for my own healthy-habits progress has been and continues to be invaluable. Thank you!

PS: Because I'm feeling better today, wanna pound the bag tonight?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-01-11 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I gotta sew. Sorry.

Oh, also, you're welcome. I am an awesome partner yes. *wince*
