Three hours
Woke up at 1:00am this morning. I think my body is trying for some sort of record here.
mckitterick has some sort of nasty bug that includes chills and a high fever, so that's really awesome for him, and what with my already-compromised immune system, I'm more than a little worried that I'm going to catch it, too.
I don't have time to get sick, body of mine.
I was hoping to get a good night's sleep tonight. I mean, apart from you know, needing some goddamn sleep already, I had acupuncture yesterday morning and then a good amount of wine before bed. And I got three hours of sleep.
This sucks.

"Foods containing tyramine (bacon, cheese, ham, aubergines, pepperoni, raspberries avocado, nuts, soy sauce, red wine) might keep you awake at night. Tyramine causes the release of norepinephrine, a brain stimulant."
It makes you tired right after you drink it, but can wake you up at odd times and prevents regular sleep patterns.

Search for red wine, tyramine and sleep and you'll probably find more.

I've never managed to acquire a taste for red wine. Or at least, not for any of them that taste like anything more than cherry soda....
On another topic, I just spent my entire lunch hour looking at your flickr set-all 79 pages! ;)

Slow day, huh? =D

You are:
1. hella photogenic; something I've never been in my life, so I'm envious. The only times I've taken good pics is formal shots from my senior pics and my wedding portraits.
2. really good at holding your camera up & taking pics, which I've never tried to do in MY LIFE! So I guess I need to practice!
I was fascinated by the bra construction set, and I still have that pirate coat page open on another tab.
I'll have to post a pic of my pirate costume I made for Halloween a couple of years ago. It was a chintzy one, nowhere CLOSE to looking like an actual pirate (a net top with a black leather look lame' tube top underneath? Sure, they all wore that!) made to look chintzy, but it was fun and surprisingly easy!
I brought the stuff home 3 days before Halloween weekend and Dean was amazed when I had the whole thing done!

Some of the photogenic quality is genetics (high contrast skin/hair shows up well in photos), but a lot of it is practice practice practice. Learn how to hold your head, learn what angle best shows off your face, learn how big to smile without looking like a goofball (unless that's the goal of the photo), learn which side of your face is better, etc. I've worked at our local renaissance festival since 1994, and of course if you're in costume, people wanna take your picture. So if you don't want to be in thousands of photos that you hate you gotta learn how to take a good picture. It's a skill formed out of self-preservation. Ha!
Hand-held self portraits are 100% practice practice practice. I'm sure you can get 'em down!
I love looking at people's costumes, so yes PICS PLEASE!

I also need to avoid caffeine in the evening in order to increase the odds that I will be able to fall asleep in the first place.
Ahhh, the mystery and magic of middle age.

I mean seriously. I have one goddamned vice left, and it sounds like I need to try giving that, too?
Fuck this, I might go back to smoking.

Yeah, this.
No way I'm giving up my wine.

I suspect the smoking wouldn't help with the sleeping any more than caffeine....
