I used to love summer and hot weather, but my body doesn't regulate heat very well anymore. I still love the long days, though. Summer solstice is always a depressing day for me.
I'm Welsh by origin. We just weren't made to cope with heat. Like Canadians. Wales is like England's Canada. Or something. WE HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS OKAY
I heard the humidity up there is absolutely horrendous. Right now it's just 51%, so it's not as bad as it CAN be down in SW Ohio. But I do know how that muggy stifling heat can be, and you have my deepest sympathies. :/
Nope, in six months the days start getting longer, and that makes me happy. It might take a while before the warmth arrives, but at least I know the dark days are behind me!
The awesomeness is half-over. Though, because it didn't quite work with my schedule to be running in the hottest part of the day, I just changed (this week) to running in Frick Park before work, from about 9-10 a.m. It's a habit I hope to keep until at least October, when it starts getting lame and cold.
I will say, the forest in late morning is amazingly beautiful. And humid enough to still be pretty warm.
I'll have to post pictures next time I'm on a weekend run - though, it seems that this weekend will be spent in DC *fingers crossed*.

That is exactly the temperature here in Ottawa, Canada, today. Come to Canada... we can make you just as miserable, eh.
