I feel so rough

I'm finding menswear (or modified menswear) more and more alluring. If When I get back to something resembling my former shape (that is, something with a well-defined waist and less chance of overflowing my waistband), more of my wardrobe will incorporate menswear styles. I started it a bit this winter with button-down shirts and vests and jackets. I think I'd like to develop it further and start using fabrics that are seen as traditionally male. Check out this helpful guide to menswear in general, that also includes some handy tips on fabric (and ordering a bespoke suit).

This is brilliant:

Someone mentioned the move We Bought a Zoo to me this weekend and then it showed up on my Tumblr dash this morning. I think it's a sign I need to watch this movie.

An Avengers summary showed up on my dash, too, and it was so good I reblogged it.

I kind of really seriously want to see Magic Mike. Erm. *cough* Who wants to try to catch a showing with me this week? My weekend is 100% booked, so it'll have to be a weeknight. I can't say I expect this to stay in the theater for very long, so sooner is probably better.

I need to talk about Serious Stuff, but it's Campbell Conference Crunch Time and the office is closed on Wednesday for the Fourth (I hate that). Not much time to get a lot of stuff done this week.

I have a gorgeous 30s men's tux w/tails that I bought when I was 19. It was outrageously expensive and it kind of makes me look like a tacky stage magician, but I love it.

Burda has/had an amazing women's tux pattern a few years ago. I should have bought it.

UNF. I would love to see that tux. Better yet, see you in it. ;)

I have heard horror stories about Burda patterns.

I should amend my statement: It's only the jacket. =/ When I fit into my nice clothes again, I'll get a photo with it for you!

Yeah, I've heard not great things about Burda patterns, but I think a lot of the issues are not necessarily the patterns themselves, but the different construction techniques from American patterns. Maybe? I have a few Burda patterns that I want to try, but no point in making new clothes until my shape stops fluctuating.

Hey, a jacket is still a jacket! And I bet it looks awesome. I have a set of silk PJ's that I'm pretty sure are fairly old that were made in Hong Kong, though they're kind of big for me.

Yeah, I don't know if we actually own any; it's been years since we went through our *ahem* extensive collection of stuff that we've planned to make (like my Rule 63 Nightwing).

Man I should really get rid of some of my patterns...
