I'm the only one on the train

Interesting body note: Six days after the Poor Food Choice Binge and my abdomen is finally un-swollen back down to thirty inches. However, I am up nearly four pounds. My body is weird.

I woke up way too early this morning and am already ready for a nap at 8:30. Sheesh. As soon as [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick wakes up, I'm gonna start busting my ass to get all the house chores done by 2:00pm so I can get in a good nap before going out tonight. An out-of-town friend is here and it's party time tonight!

As the parent of a toddler, may I make a recommendation? It's common practice in our house for one of the parents to wake up at 6:15am with the little guy and then hang out quietly until the other parent wakes up naturally around 8:00am. At which point, brave early-riser parent goes back in and naps. Definitely nap when you feel like it and fuhgeddabout the time.

Oh, I would if I could! Alas, I have a very strict body clock when it comes to sleeping. Unless I'm ill, I can't nap except between the hours of noon and 4:00. I'll just lie there, thwarted. Very frustrating. So I muddle though until noon (if I can make it until 1:00, that's even better), and then I fall asleep within a few minutes.

I can't nap after 4:00, either. No matter how tired I am, I just won't fall asleep between 4:00 and 9:00 unless there are other factors involved (illness, drunkenness, etc.).

Bodies are weird, man.
