Tonight is a good night

I am out in the garage with mckitterick, chatting with people online, drinking wine, and keeping him company while he does things to winterize the garage so we can work on the Chevelle in something resembling comfort this winter.

Life, my friends, is very, very good.

I'm in the art room lounging around and poking at work and goofing online while Minion Elizabeth (who I can't remember if I posted about on here, although I did on facebook) and two other minions she brought with her "deep clean" my house. Minion Elizabeth spawned more minions all on her own! And, i mean, they are deep cleaning the kitchen right now including but not limited to murphy's oil soaping all my many many cabinets and moving the fridge to clean under it. All for what will ultimately come out to about 9 or 10 bucks an hour (she approached me saying two other girls she works with also look for extra jobs and they said 2 days of the three of them doing between 3-4 hours a day for $180 bucks. So at mininum that is 18 man hours of cleaning, at max probably 24.) Live is very good indeed.

ETA: not drinking wine because I have FINALLY -- over a slow withdrawal process -- got myself off crap carbs and it is too new for me to blow with booze. But huzzah for having past a major eating hurdle that I've tripped over umpty times in the last umpty years.

ETA2: sadly, it is probably going to take them more than 24 hours to deep clean my entire house so imma have them come and do the same thing again in December!

ETA3: I just peeked on them and i believe they are actually taking everything out of my many many cabinets and vacuuming in there! With a fancy super vacuum they brought from the resort.

one of the girls is just sitting on a stool in there methodically taking every one of the very dusty CD cases out of the CD racks and wiping them all down individually!

I should further reply, in re: carbs, that I went total addict. I mean, there were days in a row (plural!) where I ate NOTHING but carbs .. chips and salsa, mostly, sometimes with a side of french fries. I mean literally zero protein. For days in a row. My insulin had to be so out of wack it's not even funny. So I did a slow but steady process of first adding protein back in, but not limiting my carbs, to then matching protein and carb amounts, to then delaying carbs until after the protein, etc. until I got a handle on it. I totally feel the difference, physically. I was pretty much nothing but one giant crave, before.
