Would caring about them help to save them?

Today's (enormous) Tumblr collection: Tuesday, November 20, John/Sherlock. There's no porn, although there is a lot of fanart showing various kissy-things. I decided not to include one amazing image in the collection, due to NSFW-ness, but you can see it here. It's a surprisingly sexy animated gif. No nudity, but definitely porny.

If I ever go to the Grand Canyon again, I am so doing this.

Yesterday afternoon I had an appointment with Dr. Khosh. He took me off the estrogen-regulating supplement. We'll see how my cycle goes for the next couple months and then re-evaluate if I should go back on it. He approved of my plans for the Autoimmune protocol, and agreed that it would be a good idea to do a new test of my cortisol levels in January. He was very pleased to hear about the dreaming situation and thought that was a good sign for my adrenals, though.

Everybody I've run into the past week or so, who hasn't seen me in a couple months (Mohammed at Aladdin Cafe, Dr. Khosh, a few people on campus) have mentioned that I look really great. So I guess this focus on sleep and taking-it-easy is paying off. I don't mention the fact that I'm up about twenty pounds. *sigh*

That is one very well-done gif!

In sad solidarity, I am up another 5 myself. I blame recent stress for me.

Tell me about it. It's sexier with the pants, IMO.

Sorry you're upweight, too. Mine is a combination of pure laziness/disinterest in "moderate exercise" and my tendency to CONSUME ALL THE THINGS when I know I'm going to have to cut them soon. So I've been going overboard on wine and nuts.

Forty-two more days of drinking.

the details make the gif.. the leg opening, the mouth, the arm caress.. so much of it! I know.. who'd have thought red Y-fronts would be so sexy?!

Weight.. bleh! I'm at the heaviest I've ever been in my life, and a couple of NSFW pix Jbird took of me this weekend really drove it home. If I don't see anything start dropping off with increased activity/less sitting/job stress, I may consider joining you in wine curtailment.
We'll see. I think I'm going to attend a couple of the BeMoved events, just to get me moving. I also have a Body Boutique membership courtesy of the job, so I might try their yoga classes. I'll let you know what I think, I know non-members can do fee-based attendance.

Those red Y-fronts are HUGE in the Sherlock fandom. Google "John's Red Pants" and be prepared to be highly entertained.

Yay for movement plans! Let me know what you think of the BeMoved stuff. I think I've found my successor to Gopi in the yoga department (Anne at Yoga Studio of Lawrence).

Oh fun, I have lots to learn!

I'm only doing a day "workshop" (https://www.facebook.com/events/457520930949651/)for now, partly because I'm more than a bit interested in her Ayurvedic practice as well.

When are the Yoga Studio classes?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-11-20 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Their schedule is here (http://www.yogacenteroflawrence.org/schedule_day.php).

I recommend their Intro to Yoga for anyone who hasn't studied with someone else at some length/recently. Even the Level 1 class was a little tough for me, and I mentioned the combo Level 1 and 2 class kicked my ass. I'm just not ready for inversions yet. I'll be signing up for the Level 1 class next time, even though it means I have to go downtown twice in two days every week.

Thanks! Good to know, that. I'd have to start out very simply, myself.

I went to Tumblr today before I even thought about opening my LJ, so I saw all your posts (or I thought I did-missed both of those two, so now I probably have ANOTHER two to follow!).

I'm glad you are feeling better!

I'm finally starting to trim a bit, from extra exercise and extra veggies/fruits in my diet. I haven't weighed myself; just can tell from looking in the mirror, and from the way my clothes fit.

Reblogged your recs again, and had to laugh (delightedly!) at you writing out each and every acronym! I actually knew most of them this time! LOL!

I feel for the newbies who are trying to dip their toes into this culture and get smacked with all those fucking acronyms. We've got a ton of them.

So glad you liked the collection! Yay!

Will you tell me more about your adrenal issues? Should I e-mail you? I recently started seeing an ND and he suspects adrenal fatigue as the unaddressed complicating factor to my continued thyroid issues. I was sent home with a saliva test kit and have no idea what to expect if it shows issues.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2012-11-21 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm more than happy to talk about it here. Adrenal issues and thyroid problems apparently go hand-in-hand, so it really wouldn't surprise me that you're suffering from them, too. I'm not sure what all to tell you, though. The adrenal problems were causing most of my exhaustion (which I thought was thyroid-related), and most of my inability to lose weight (when I was actually trying). Everything I've read about the HPA axis (http://chronicfatigue.about.com/od/cfsglossary/g/hpa_axis.htm) led me to believe I needed to focus on that before I started tackling my autoimmune stuff. I think my cortisol levels are getting better, finally, after nearly eight months of supplements and targeted acupuncture treatments. It's slow going recovering from adrenal issues, so be prepared.
