Breaking out

The website Jezebel usually makes me break out in hives. They got this one right, though. How to Compliment Women, 101.

The medication Dr. Khosh has me on to (hopefully) calm down my thyroid antibodies can cause acne. Sure enough, two weeks after starting it, I've got a painful, red bump on my chin. Could be it was triggered from my period, but if I get more, I'm going to have to decrease my dosage or stop taking it altogether. SIGH.

This morning's 3am thunderstorms did not lend themselves to a good night's sleep. Man I'm tired. And also, my innards feel weirdly uncomfortable. Like I ate something that didn't agree, or I'm still having minor menstrual cramps. WTF, body?

I've never really NOT had acne, so I really wouldn't know what to do if it stopped. Hope it's just a one-off, though! And hope your innards calm down!

Ugh. I am really lucky when it comes to my skin. I rarely have any trouble spots.

I think Lindy West, in general, is one of the best writers at Jezebel. She tackles feminist issues with an appropriate amount of snark, humor, and exasperation.

One really needs all three of those in good measure to be a feminist and not go banana-pants.

Love the article, thanks! I work with a guy who I've known for a dozen or so years (he once was my manager at a different company; we're peers now in the same general area) and so we have a sort of bond-due-to-the-past going on. Despite all that, even he has a hard time complimenting me when I look nice, and will say something to the effect of, "You look nice today" and then does this hilarious (and awkward) backpedalling dance of "not that you don't look nice every day" followed by "not that I'm trying to hit on you", etc. DUDE, I get it, and thank you. Now calm down! :)

Oh, Balthazar, we love you!

That article is excellent advice. I wonder if Kids Today™ are getting that message?

Ok great article. Use the amazing blemish crap you recommended to me and fix your damn thyroid!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] hdsqrl He's nervous because he IS into you! DUH!

Oh, believe me, I've been using the Paula's Choice stuff. And I would love to just "fix" myself...of course, the thyroid isn't the real problem. It's the autoimmune disease.

"love to just "fix" myself"

Yes, that was among the stupidest thing's I've typed, please forgive me.
