I don't know which came first, shitty health problems or the crap feelings
Got the results of my bloodwork. The thyroid stuff isn't settling down, damn it.
March blood results:
Free T4: .8 (range .8 to 1.8)
Free T3: 2.3 (range 2.3 to 4.2)
TSH: 6.14 (range .4 to 4.5)
TPO: 381 (should be less than 35)
April blood results:
Free T4: 1.0 (range .8 to 1.8)
Free T3: 79 (range 76-181; different test range)
TSH: 2.24 (range .4 to 4.5)
TPO: 347 (should be less than 35)
May blood results:
Free T4: .9 (range .8 to 1.8)
Free T3: 67 (range 76-181)
TSH: 2.5 (range .4 to 4.5)
TPO: 332 (should be less than 35)
The only thing good there is the general downward trend of the thyroid antibodies. So maybe the DHEA is helping with the autoimmune levels. But the thyroid numbers themselves are not so great.
My liver panel came back completely solid, with everything well in range.
Protein, total: 6.7 g/dL (expected 6.1 to 8.1)
Albumin: 4.5 g/dL (expected 3.6 to 5.1)
Globulin: 2.2 g/dL (expected 1.9 to 3.7)
Albumin/Globulin ratio: 2.0 (expected 1.0 to 2.5)
Bilirubin, total: .4 mg/dL (expected .2 to 1.2)
Bilirubin, direct: .1 mg/dL (expected < .2)
Bilirubin, indirect: .3 mg/dL (expected .2 to 1.2)
Alkaline Phosphatase: 59 U/L (expected 33/115)
AST: 18 U/L (expected 10-30)
ALT: 15 U/L (expected 6-29)
I see Dr. Khosh this afternoon to discuss what to do next.
I'm pretty sure this mashup vid was made to mock people on Ecstacy, but god damn, these people look like they're having the best time ever. Who cares if they look stupid? They are getting the fuck down with their bad selves and I can't fault them for that.

Dear god, I could look at this gif for hours:

It's from this, which I didn't find all that funny or entertaining, but damn BC can rock a white tux jacket and smoke a fine cigarette.
And now I want an Iron Man action figure.
My energy levels are not so great today, and my swelling issues are out of control. My big jeans are tight on me today. Starting tomorrow, I'm cutting out nuts, fruits, raw vegetables (no more salads), and the Coco-Roons I've been eating as an indulgence food (they have maple syrup as a sweetener and they're raw--a double whammy). So, basically, a super-strict Whole30 except I'll still have a glass of wine or three at the parties/get togethers I've already got on the planner.
I can feel myself slipping back into feeling-not-so-great feelings (bloated, tired, brain-foggy) and I will not stand for it. Time to cut out the dietary influences that might be affecting me poorly. I'm not a fan of the saying "nothing tastes as good as thin feels." But for me, it's true that nothing tastes as good as feeling good feels. I just need a reminder of that once in a while.

It does, yes. But the declining TPO (thyroid antibodies) means things on that front are getting better. Which means (as I suspected) the abdominal swelling issues have little or nothing to do with my autoimmune issues. They might have instigated or exacerbated the development of the swelling issues, but the Hashimoto's isn't what actually causes the swelling.

And Benedict should not be that sexy when smoking, dammit.

Also, I'm glad your thyroid numbers are going down, even if it is slowly. I'm sorry stuff is making you feel crappy, and I hope that the changes make you feel like yourself again.
