Cracked.com actually has a good article on sexism: Five Responses to Sexism that Just Make Everything Worse. It's long, but good.
Another good but long itemized article is this Nine Questions AtheistsMight Find Insulting and How to Answer Them.
Last night was my first session with Jennifer the Hypnotherapist. It was...okay? I didn't have any expectations. We spent a lot of time just talking about stuff and then the last thirty minutes were spent in a short hypnosis session which was mostly just like a very long Savasana meditation. She made a recording of it that I get to use for homework. I'm not noticing any changes yet, but I wasn't expecting to. My next session is Tuesday, when we're going to start Cellular Release Therapy. *shrug* We'll see. God I hope this works. The skirt I wore today is way too tight. I had to unbutton it and it's still riding up around my middle ribs. God damn it.
Can I claim hypnotherapy as a medical expense on my taxes? I'm going to claim all the stuff with Dr. Khosh this year because between the office visits and the supplements I paid over $3,000. Ugh.
Oh, one thing of note after the hypnotherapy session: When I got home, I was just wiped out. I barely managed to put food in my face before collapsing on the couch. I couldn't even muster the energy to read some fic. I KNOW. I got my clothes for today ready and was in bed by 8:40. Except for getting up once to go to the bathroom (and interact briefly with
mckitterick, who'd just returned from his Thursday night downtown shenanigans), I slept until 6:00 this morning. Oooof. Tired.
And here it is, only 11:40 and I'm totally ready for my nap.

Medical expenses can be deducted on Schedule A if they are over 10% of your adjusted gross income, which includes non-traditional expenses. I'll bet if you add up the incidental stuff as well, you'll manage *something* out of it.
There is also a *credit* for hypnotherapy, but get this.. only for smoking cessation or weight loss for medical reasons as determined by your physician. :P Got a way to fudge that?

I don't think anyone is going to believe that I need to lose weight for medical reasons, so....probably not on that one. =b
Thanks for looking those up!

Don't forget mileage.. it's only a bit, but if you have a pocket calendar with each trip, @.50 mi, it does add up as well.

Edit: Hm! The IRS website's version of Schedule A still stays 7.5%!
2nd Edit: Do I need to go back and re-collect receipts? Stupidly, I didn't save them.

It's 7.5 for previous years. For years beginning after December 31, 2012, you may deduct only the amount by which your total medical expenses exceed 10% of your adjusted gross income. (http://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc502.html)

I would have thought that there was a loophole since the Kansas Board of Healing Arts recognizes and licenses Naturopaths. Appeal it?
