Fashion misses
Oh. Why, hello there completely new style inspiration/obsession. I just happened to stumble on this website while doing some hunting for my next Tumblr collection (1910s fashion) and I just...I just...I...

I spent about half an hour saving images. Look at the layering. She has descriptions of what elements are used to create each look and pages upon pages of line drawings for the different articles of clothing used to create each ensemble. I'm tempted to just print out the whole damn website.
WEEPING FOR THE BEAUTY OF IT ALL
Speaking of wardrobe items I shall never own, I recently found (completely by accident) the boots that started me on my search for the perfect black boot. I saw them worn on someone's fashion blog and every online shoe store was either sold out or didn't have them at all. I emailed the blog owner and she said they were a couple years old. I looked for those fuckers for a year before I gave up and bought my Ariats, which never fit me right, and then asked
mckitterick to buy me the Borns this year, which are gorgeous, but they aren't the dream boots. I don't regret many things in life but DAMN I regret that I didn't find these before ordering the Borns.

My sympathy on finding the right boots at the wrong time!
I can tell from the look of those boots that you really like the knee-high leg on those, right? So you can tuck your pants in, or wear them with tights?
Because otherwise, you could get Justin lace-ups and take the silly fringe off the laces, assuming that Justin still makes them. Not that those don't look ten times better than a pair of ankle high lace-ups, because they do-and how!
Oh, now that's just weird! Justin no longer makes lace-ups for women at all. Only for men. AAAND they carry flip-flops. Why does a boot company carry FLIP-FLOPS??
*eyeroll* Go figure.

Color me unsurprised.

I just tried to, and I can't find your tumblr....
I wouldn't mind, though; I like following/friending people on both sites, just to see what they like and dislike.
I follow an extremely eclectic batch of folks, so you'll probably fit right in. I very seldom post anything of my own; mostly I reblog. Pretty much just like here on LJ.

I asked because I had someone with the same handle as yours friend me and I didn't know how they found me.

My apologies-it IS me!
That's one thing that tumblr doesn't seem to do-you can't search through the blogs you follow to find one, and they are sorted GODONLYKNOWSHOW! I think they are in order of follow....
So, at least the mystery is solved!

Another thing that appeals to me about that website's clothes is they're loose-fitting and flowy. So would hide a lot of my stupid swelling and ever-increasing waistline.

clothes should adjust to meet us where we are in our bodies and our lives
This is an amazing and meaningful statement that I now shall incorporate into my life.

Oh that's such an inspiring site! I haven't seen one like that since my days of collecting Gypsy Moon catalogs (http://www.gypsymoon.com/category.php?categoryId=48).
Oh! Well, that figures as well:
In 1983 there was a queen of rock...Stevie Nicks. She was a witch and a dancer, a gypsy and a waif and she was the soundtrack of our lives, then as she is now.
This will be our last collection and it seems right to make it an ode to our muse. This collection contains almost all of our most precious and hoarded collections from antique silk velvet to a crocheted flapper dress and, of course, we've filled it in with some of our most popular designs.
This collection will be different from past ones because we will be saying goodbye to Gypsy Moon this year and will no longer be offering custom orders after December.

Of course they are, because I just remembered how much I loved them. I remember me dressing in that style, too.
I'm so with you on pulling an entire wardrobe together like that.. time to dust off the machine!
Speaking of style, I've seen you walking down the hill several times while I'm on my way up to Jayhawk Blvd at 5'ish, and you are still looking wonderful as ever, so body be damned, it can't set you back!

:mwahh!:
Okay, my next sewing assignment for an outfit is a pair of ruffled pantaloons with a matching skirt.
I mean LOOK AT IT (http://www.gypsymoon.com/productDetail.php?pid=1470&categoryId=45&page=3)

I can see incorporating it into an idea or two from that site you posted... those long jackets! Very Edwardian.
I'm going to need sewing practice, too, it's been way too long since I've sewn light and sheer.

I have such high fashion aspirations but absolutely no follow though. I think years of all black gothdom broke my ability to wear colors, patterns, or mix and matching. Add in the fact that I'm not overly fond of shopping and I wear way more boring tank top plus cardigan ensembles than I'd prefer.
I've on the search for a pair of engineer boots that are about a 9-10" shaft, with a low heel and a round toe. Hello impossible thing to find!

HA! I mean...poor thing.
You know, it's pretty easy to snazz up a tank and cardigan with just a belt or scarf. Or both. Honestly, I love cardigans. Because LAYERS.
Ooof. Yeah, finding an engineer boot with a round toe is gonna be tough. Good luck!
