With age and envy grown into a hoop
Conversation with friends this week:
Me: I can't remember the name of the glowing green orb from Heavy Metal. Does anyone know it? All I can think of is Lorax and I know that's not it...okay, now all I can think of is Lorax and Sarlacc and Sarlacc is really not it.
Friend: What's Sycorax?
Me: That's Caliban's mother in The Tempest.
Friend: Oh, right.
McKitterick: Why don't we ever enter in trivia contests?
Best animal video seen this week (yes, this tops the shameful cats). Be aware, though, it takes a turn for the tragic around 1:08.
And in personal news, my back is so much better yay! but (there's always a but) this morning my left shoulder popped out of joint while I was doing tricep dips. I landed on my ass, which wasn't a big deal since I was already pretty close to the ground, but it gave my left shoulder quite a wrench since I still had my hand on the weight bench behind me. Nothing's torn, but it's pretty sore. Hurts to mouse (I mouse with my left hand) or raise my arm higher than shoulder height.

I'm keeping heat on it as best I can here at the office (I have one of those microwaveable beanbag things), but I can tell this thing's gonna hurt like hell tomorrow.

♥ Absolutely.
Oh, I used to love Heavy Metal (the mag) so much! No one else I knew did, except for a couple of the GIs I hung out with.
I want to watch the original now. I tried to get a tattoo like the Tarakian had, but (thankfully) the artist in Houston wouldn't do it for me.
Just the description of your shoulder makes me wince. Those dislocations!
I wonder if you have one of the markers for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ehlers%E2%80%93Danlos_syndrome)

What I don't understand is the description of Trendelenburg's sign. ".. found in people with weak or paralyzed abductor muscles of the hip, namely gluteus medius and minimus." I mean..."weak OR paralyzed" seems rather contradictory, doesn't it?
