I shouldn't even be on here but you guys THIS VID

The first time I heard "Wrecking Ball," I emailed [livejournal.com profile] pennswoods and [livejournal.com profile] aprilstarchild and said oh my god I have found my perfect Johnlock song and please won't somebody vid this and look look look SOMEBODY DID:

Also, I love the singer. WHO IS THIS SINGER? I want a copy of this version. SOMEONE FIND ME A DOWNLOADABLE VERSION OF THIS.

I have way too much to do today to be fucking around with finding songs or watching Sherlock vids (or anything other than application materials) but aaaaaaaaauuuuuuuuuuuugggggghhhhhhhhhhhh.

Hm. Pretty sure that's not the same singer/production. I prefer the bombastic background music and vocals in the vid that are more faithful to the original. Ah well, thanks and I'm glad you found a new artist to like!

Oops, well, guess I can't trust Shazam.
Do you think maybe it's this Danity Kane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84ntey8QWoU), except a studio version instead?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-23 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. I'm pretty sure that's a young (male) tenor singing the version in the vid.

If YouTube hadn't gone over to insisting I use my Google identity when I comment on videos, I'd just ask the vid creator. But, no. Sorry, YouTube/Google. Fuck you for making me use my real name on fandom related stuff.

Oh, yeah, you're right.. and there's a back-up singer in there, too. Well, I've tried listening to everyone from Sean Cook (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uBIW80TTeo) to King the Kid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuLgpqSLA4E), (really, catch his visuals) and I can't seem to match it.

That's really amazing. The tears.

It looks like most people who comment on YouTube just use whatever crazy Google+ account they signed up with - very few "real" names in that batch.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-23 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, if only I'd signed up for Google with something other than my real name, that'd be aces.

I really liked that cover too.

There were a couple of great moments in the video and I liked the layered effect in some places. Martin Freeman--he's the bomb for those heartbreaking moments where there is physical pain.

He's a fantastic actor, yep.

If you do find out who the vocalist on that recording is, I want to know!

Will do!
