Oh good. My favorite.

I haven't been posting about it because I was hoping it was an anomaly/transitory, but I'm thinking...no.

Here's my sleeping schedule for the past week:

December 24: Awake at 2:30
December 25: Awake at 3:00
December 26: Awake at 4:30
December 27: Awake at 2:30
December 28: Awake at 2:30
December 29: Awake at 1:00

So that sucks.

I had to cancel today's session with Andrew because there's no way I can work with him on three hours of sleep. Still gotta do henna this afternoon, though. It's going to be a long day.

Eurgh. That sucks a lot. I hope it goes away.

OH GOD, ME TOO.

I got another three hours after 5:30, so there's that.

Hm. It wasn't one of mine, so the server must be down.

My 2:30-3:00 wake up was one of things the gyn zeroed in on when confirming perimenopause. Just so you know. Progesterone eliminated it (along with most of the other stuff) and I'm back to sleeping straight through.

zeroed in on when confirming perimenopause

Same thing happened for my mother.

Low progesterone can cause really painful cramps as well.

I hope that hormone panel turns something up.

ME, TOO.

I've been hoping for wondering about early onset menopause for YEARS, but everybody keeps telling me that's not it, and my mom and grandma both had really late menopause but HOPES SPRINGS ETERNAL.

Ugh, that's awful. Are you closer to figuring out what is causing you to wake up?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-30 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. I'm gonna start tracking things more carefully, though. Activity levels, food intake, etc. See if that turns up anything.

It's like you're living on Greenwich Mean Time. Yeesh.

My body is ready for Sherlock. Obviously.

I have eighty bazillion sexual gifs to respond with but I also have eighty billion apps to process today.

that really does suck. :(

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-30 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It's getting tedious, that's for sure.

what time do you get to bed?
i just got an app on my new phone that tracks sleep...i wonder if that would tell you anything. also, have you heard about the second sleep? there is a body of evidence that suggests that our ancestors did not sleep in big, 8 hour chunks, but in 2 smaller chunks. here is a BBC article about that. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-16964783)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2013-12-30 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm usually in bed by 9:30 or 10:00.

I have read articles about that, but they're not very helpful for two reasons. One, I used to sleep eight hours straight just fine, so why not anymore? and two, that knowledge is all well and good but it absolutely doesn't work in a modern world with a day job.
