If this tour comes anywhere near me (we're talking within two states), I AM GOING. Hell, I might consider traveling further as long as it's not during the dead of winter. I think the US portion of the tour is long over, though, and a brief search doesn't even bring up information on where he appeared.

Oooo, fun! Hope you didn't miss it!

I got to see him in 1994 on the US tour. Hands-down the most amazing concert experience I've ever had.

That is quite the accolade coming from you!

((Which makes me wonder if you'd be interested/willing to do an LJ post of your top 3/5/10/whatever concerts of all time? I'd certainly love to read about what you've seen and enjoyed, and I bet the gif spread would have me in stitches.))

Oooh! That's an idea! I'll think about it. I already know my top two!

I would definitely subscribe to that newsletter.

It's a great idea and I'll definitely do it sometime in the next couple weeks.

I saw him on the So tour, and IIRC he may have been in the Human Rights Now Amnesty International tour as well. He's one of my all-time favorites!

He is amazing.

Definitely one of my favorites.

I only know a handful of his songs--I need to get to know him better!

Oh, yes! Definitely. His first four solo albums are just...magical. And his latest, UP is very much a return to the sound of those first four, only with the music technology available forty years later. AMAZING.

To compare, here is his first solo album, released in 1977:

And here is the first track from his latest original work solo album, released in 2002 (I can't find a full album). Careful with volume, the first thirty seconds are really quiet:

PETER GABRIEL IS A MUSICAL GOD. He's pretty much neck and neck with Maynard James Keenan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maynard_James_Keenan) in my eyes.
