How could I have possibly expected otherwise
This morning I threw out my back again.

I'd just finished with my warm-up on the rower and was doing my warm-up back squats with an empty bar. On the fifth squat, my back seized up. Exact same place as last time. Not as bad as before (THANK GOD), but bad enough that I'm in constant discomfort.
I was going to write up some sort of funny spin on this, but I don't have it in me.
I was already in a funk, anyway. Yesterday's mood did not improve, so I'm pretty sure this is something hormonal. Which means something's messed up somewhere. Yesterday's extra-bad abdominal swelling shoulda been a clue, I guess. Could be my female hormones, could be an autoimmune flare-up, could be a spike in cortisol from the stress of getting ready for Comic-Con, could be plain bad luck. Could be a mix of any of those things.
Regardless of the cause, I would not describe myself as raring to go for the week's adventures (not to mention the four-plus hour plane trip just to get there). I'm mentally and emotionally frustrated, and now I'm physically fucked up, too. I mean, you know, more than my normal levels of fucked up.

*This close* to crying, y'all. I've got that thing where I have a lump in my throat and I have to be careful when I talk or things come out all hitchy.
I'm sure it'll be fine and I'll have a great time, but right now I just want to crawl in a hole.

Oh yeah. Almost forgot. Today's Tumblr collection is Tuesday, July 22: Fighting.

Hope you're really able to get away from it all and enjoy the fuck out of your trip.

Thank you for the well-wishes.
I'm leaving work as soon as I can today (I have some responsibilities that keep me here until just after noon), and then I'm off to see my chiropractor. Then Imma lie flat on my back the rest of the day and hope for the best.
