Rawk!
It's Friday. \m/ \m/
I didn't realize so many people were cut off fromlifethe internet yesterday. My apologies for cursing all of you. I'm going to tell myself that's why nobody responded to the poll until well after I took the weighty matter on my own shoulders and decided to go home. I see that's how the vote went, though.
Got so much done. It was definitely worth the four hours of vacation time. Almost tempted to do it again today 'cept I actually have stuff to work on. I got a 30 minute nap/cuddle in with kitten, and then locked myself in the sewing room. Finished the red and orange bellydance costume for faire (well, except for the skirt) and it looks just stunning. Very happy with it. So happy, in fact, that I'm making the exact same costume in blue and green. =) I have the same fabric pattern in a nice contrast color, so maybe if I ever do a duet with someone we could use these. In in any case, since I already have a design I should be able to finish this one up quickly and have my two costumes for that weekend of faire. I also got the prototype bodice for the whore costume cut, pieced, and the linings mostly tacked together. I'll be taking it to KC this weekend to get advice on boning. Yes, a very productive afternoon.

1. What was the first concert you ever attended? How old were you? Where was it? I went to see Huey Lewis and the News with my mom & some friends when I was 14. It was in Wichita and our car got broken into and all our purses got stolen.
2. What was the most recent concert you attended? Where and when? I see mostly local live shows...I can't even remember what the most recent one was, though. I also go to rockabilly music festivals in Vegas and Indianapolis every year. My last Big Concert was probably Nine Inch Nails and Perfect Circle in KC a few years ago.
3. Have you ever seen your favorite artist/band in concert? Did the show live up to your expectations or were you disappointed? I saw Peter Gabriel on the US tour in 1997. It was a spiritual experience. Seriously. Amazing.
4. Ever been to a concert where you were pleasantly surprised at the performance? Ever been to a concert where you were totally disappointed? Name 'em! I went with a BF to see R.E.M. in Denver a long time ago. I'm not a fan, but I really enjoyed the show. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a band at a concert, but audience members disappoint me all the time.
5. Name five bands that would headline your own personal festival. (Along the lines of Oz Fest or Lollapalooza) Well, nobody would by tickets, and even I wouldn't want to see them all in one day, but I'd really like to see the following people again someday: Peter Gabriel (as long as he limits the number of songs from the most recent album), They Might Be Giants, Janis Martin, Tool, and Beastie Boys, although they have to agree to limit the bad early punk stuff.
