I feel better this morning. We'll see how long it lasts. That's not pessimism, that's being realistic. I am weaning myself off caffeine. Green or white tea in the morning, no caffeine after noon. Black tea only on weekends. We'll see if it helps my overall energy levels once my body adjusts.

Finished season two of Penny Dreadful last night and I was...uncertain about how I felt about it? I was so pissed off by one of the writing choices in the last episode that it soured me on the rest of the ending.

Fury Road fanart! I was looking forward to that, great to see it on my dash today :)

There's a panel at Nine Worlds called We Are Not Things - Wives, Imperators and Blood Bags in Mad Max: Fury Road, I'm really excited to go, I think it's a fabulous movie to get into the meta, especially when looked at through a feminist perspective.

And Penny Dreadful, which writing choice in the last episode? I found it a weird season, after s1 I wasn't all that convinced I even wanted to keep on watching, but then I did and get REALLY into it for the first half of s2, but then it sort of fizzed out, I don't know. It feels a bit like a show that could be absolutely great, but then somehow... isn't? *g*

Okay, so SPOILERS FOR PENNY DREADFUL Y'ALL:
I am so angry they killed Sembene. Just so very very angry. If this was a satire show, of course that would have been the obvious choice because the black person always dies, right? But it's not. And they did it anyway and just fuck that.

I agree PD fizzled out. I am not a fan of ZOMG must save the world plots, though. Story lines that are locally-based with smaller stakes have more impact for me. End-Of-Times plots bore me. It's what disappointed me with the end of season one American Horror Story, too.

SPOILERS FOR PENNY DREADFUL I agree about Sembene, he was so interesting, too, I really thought that they were saving up a big back story for him? I mean, he never said a lot but what he did say about himself was really intriguing? But also, Angelique! Introducing a trans character and then killing her in the same season should be against the law imo. :/

Angelique's death didn't bother me so much because it was obvious she had to die. She was too good of a person and Dorian is so very not. Also, it was obvious she was a guest character and anyone who is a guest character in a horror show has a short life span.

I'm glad you feel better today. Yowza, is the caffeine reduction in response to or a cause of yesterday's exhaustion? Either way, good luck! I quit caffeine cold turkey after college but my recent rediscovery of iced tea has led to something of a backslide.

I'm a little worried the excessive fatigue (more than normal) might be caused by my drinking too much hot tea lately. I just love black tea, but I wonder if maybe a cup a day is a bit too much for me, what with my messed-up adrenals.
