Jinxed it

I knew I shouldn'tve mentioned I was sleeping well. Been up since 2. Dozed a tiny bit in the four and a half hours since I woke, but never really slept. And it thundering right now, so no point in staying home to sleep.

Actual footage of me getting ready for work this morning:

ETA: At work now and drinking a sample tea I received in the mail couple weeks ago. I've been saving it for A Necessary Morning and if today doesn't fit that descriptor, I don't know what would. And oh my god people this shit is delicious. God damn. I will never buy it because my adrenals and I don't need extra caffeinated tea made available to us on a regular basis. But if you're a heavy caffeine user and you like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, I highly recommend giving this stuff a try.

2nd Update: And now the building AC is out. Again.

I had a chat with Spiritonparole on FB recently about sleeping and I'm trying out a no-screens ban before bed (2hr ideally), some sort of meditation (F*uck That, daydreaming), and natural light or daylight lamp first thing in the morning. Seems to be helping a bit when added to my other routines. We'll see if I can keep it up.

Good luck. Health management has so much in common with trading recipes or cat pictures sometimes.

Yeah, I have a no-screens ban, myself. I'm hoping last night's insomnia was weather-related. I don't sleep well when it's raining, so perhaps my body just felt the storm coming a few hours in advance.

Sorry about the sleeping jinx. Keeping my fingers crossed that it was weather related. I love listening to rain, but sometimes I get truly hideous headaches with storms. Even before they get here. I'm guessing it is atmospheric pressure but I have yet to figure out why they are more common for me now than before. Hoping it is not age related. :/

My the age-related/progesterone sleeplessness issue has been, I'm convinced, successfully dealt with. Last night's sleeplessness was something else and I choose to believe it was weather related. I have some solid (if anecdotal) evidence to back me up.

Ugh, the suck, I'm sorry.

I woke up feeling better except for a rash on my thighs, arms, and stomach. Maybe a reaction to a bug bite on my butt? *Sigh*

We've had horrible problems with bug bites in our house lately, too. WHAT IS THE DEAL.

Last attempt at living it up before the cold death comes?

DIE ALREADY you little bastards!

That tea sounds AMAZING though! I think I need to try it, even though I'm not much of a tea-drinker beyond sweet iced.

I am SO SAD it's gone. Gotta put some sort of milk in it, though, IMO. I used coconut milk, but if you can have dairy, I bet real cream would be incredible.

I can have dairy, so I think I'll get some and try it that way :D It sounds so delicious!

Boo. :( I hope there are more good and/or decent energy days in the near future.

I woke up this morning with what feels like a solid case of bronchitis, sooooooo..............

[identity profile] redheadfae.livejournal.com 2015-09-19 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh honey. That super sucks.

OMG, they have environmentally friendly "K cups" of black tea! Thank you thank youthankyou.

[identity profile] sherwood21.livejournal.com 2015-09-20 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
OH GOD. You have my deepest sympathies. Hope it clears up as quickly & easily as possible.

OH, NOOOOOOO!

I have never heard of hicaf, and I think that might have been for the best. But, oh, I want that tea!

I spent this summer thinking that I made my tea much stronger than I should, then I measured the standard mugs we use and realized it IS almost 16 ounces in each, so people SHOULD be using two. But since I use two bags to a mug, and drink two or more mugs on a typical work day, this does not bode well. It's 11 (my lunch break is almost over, my schedule stinks!) and I am on mug #3. But the first was decaf and the other two are regular caf. But ack!

Yes, apparently you now get every thought that flies through my head, but that sounds soooo good! Decisions!

When I drink black tea, I usually use Yorkshire Gold. I recommend giving it a try if you haven't yet! One bag steeps a 16oz mug just fine and the flavor is fantastic!
