The RNC in a nut, nut, nutshell

[livejournal.com profile] hideehogal posted this summary of the RNC to [livejournal.com profile] danger_army. I'll quote the post: "Warning: The old Beat exercise of repeating the word until it becomes gibberish is in effect." Trust me--It's worth the download time.

News flash: I have a new internet crush. His name is [livejournal.com profile] interim32. It's rare that I get an internet crush on a boy, so it's only fitting that this one is gay. I honestly have no idea who this person is. I found a post of his on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes. He's a fantastic read. I encourage anyone with ten minutes of free time to wander by his journal. How can you not love someone who begins an entry with "Today at the salad bar, after dating him for a whole month, I finally told my boyfriend that I'm gay. I guess, by extension, that kind of makes him gay too."

In other news, I'm having another Pretty Day. After the success last week with the black pants, I thought I'd try on some of my old skirts. A couple are too small, but the one I'm wearing now: Hot-cha! Very exciting. I feel better when I dress up for work. It's nice to be able to do that again. Being a Retro Style Girl, I was uncomfortable wearing what I consider scruffies to the office. However, I couldn't justify spending the time and money to make new clothes that would only (hopefully) last me a season. So I'm back at my desk in my old sweater/skirt/heels combo and feeling quite fine. La la la! OK, stepping out of Maria mode now. Thanks for the brief indulgence.

[livejournal.com profile] gmskarka reminded me of the funny moment from Saturday: I got carried off by the sexiest guard at faire during an impromptu interaction between the whores and the English court. The boy might be thin, but damn he's strong. He carted me out of the wizard tower area, up the lane, past the food stands, and out the back first aid gate. Pity his next appearance was in the children's area or I would've mussed him up good before we headed back down to the area.

Last night I had dinner at KoKoRo with [livejournal.com profile] dvicci. It's been a long ass time since just the two of us went out together (gawd, maybe even as long as five years?). I laughed so hard I cried. It's a good thing the restaurant was pretty empty. They only sat one other couple anywhere near us. It's frightening to think that we've mellowed in the eight/nine(?) years we've known each other. We've both made efforts to tone down our language, so when we're alone together, our conversation is no less foul than your average Tarantino movie. Progress! When I got home, I spent some time remembering evenings spent at Replay Lounge with [livejournal.com profile] dvicci and [livejournal.com profile] black_king, exchanging sex stories and making raunchy conversation. Oh, good times. I raise a glass to you both, my friends. Granted, it's full of hot tea at the moment, but it's the thought that counts.

Finally: this is the last call for anyone who wants tickets for the Ghost in the Shell movie tomorrow night. 7:30 show. You might want to plan an arrival of 7:15 or so, at the latest. The theater is not large and if you're picky about your seating area, well...show up early. I will be getting tickets for five KC people so far: [livejournal.com profile] rougewench, [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning, [livejournal.com profile] femfataleatron, [livejournal.com profile] kalinobeche, and [livejournal.com profile] digibri. If you want a ticket and you were not mentioned in the previous sentence, please let me know no later than 4:30 p.m. today.
