So apparently, someone took my life story, switched the gender of the protagonist, and made a movie out of it. Except for the "curse" aspect. I came by my ability naturally. I know I've posted about this before, but it's been a long time...a couple years ago, I realized that of the (mumble mumble) guys I'd been with, all but one went on to marry the next girl they dated. I considered renting myself out as a service.

And now, somebody made a movie out of it. Figures.

This is good news: A key portion of the Patriot Act is unconstitutional and violates Americans' free speech rights, a federal judge said Thursday in a case that could represent a bitter setback for the Bush administration's attempts to expand its surveillance powers.

We'll see how long that federal judge keeps his job...can federal judges be fired like federal attorneys?

Dinner and shopping tonight with fireguarder! Should be a lovely time. And I'm looking forward to a good weekend at Faire. Here's hoping the new allergy med cocktail works better than last week's attempt.

You can't fire a federal judge, thank goodness. It takes quite a bit to get one off the bench since they are confirmed by Congress. It's one of the checks on democracy- the Founding Fathers and No Founding Mothers thought it prudent to appoint judges for life in hopes that their dedication to the judicial system will ultimately trump any political values that got them there. (yeah, I know. but that's the way it's *supposed* to work)
