Dientes

I got my bi-annual tooth cleaning this morning. Shiny happy teeth, yay! I was due for x-rays, boo.

6-12

Careful eating combined with a diuretic pill and enough water to drown an army has me down three pounds. Excellent.

Over Memorial Day weekend, I hurt my left foot (no idea how). It was almost too painful to walk for a day or two, but has been getting better. I noticed it hurt less when I wore a moderate heeled shoe (two to three inches), but yesterday was the first day I tried walking to work in a pair of heels. I bought these from Browns Shoe Fit downtown last week and I figured this was as good a chance as any to see if they were a good purchase. Up and down the hill to work and back with no problem! My legs were a little sore from being in heels all day (haven't done that in a while), but my feet felt great. The shoes are a little conservative in their style (I really wanted these instead), but practicality and a limited pocketbook won out. Sigh. This is what getting older is about, isn't it? Buying sturdy, practical shoes out of necessity and budget because your feet hurt. Ppthpthphhththt.

I was just at the dentist Wednesday for the same thing. It never occurred to me to take a photo of myself in the chair. Maybe my December checkup...

And I am all about sensible shoes. It effects the clothes I wear because I have yet to find footwear that doesn't hurt my feet that I can wear with skirts. I am not big on sandals for various reasons. Boots never seem to work out (except hiking boots). I simply stopped wearing skirts.

I wear my combat boots with skirts all the time, but I know that's not everyone's style.

What is up with Indigo by Clarks being such an expensive brand?! Clarks are expensive enough. What are they thinking charging the extra for an offshoot brand?

They're so FLIPPIN CUTE. That's what.

Ow ow ow it hurts me to read that someone gave up wearing skirts because of footwear issues. Skirts were the sacrificial lamp? Oh owwwww. These babies are crazy comfy, last forever, and look great with skirts:

^^ LAMP = LAMB.

Wow, those are cute!

I like the idea of a sacrificial lamp.

I like the shoes you got! Like the ones [livejournal.com profile] radiantmephit suggested too!

Uh. You are gonna cry. The cute ones are now a dollar les than the conservative ones.

I doubt Brown's Shoe Fit is selling them for that price, though. =(

I've had pretty good luck with buying shoes online.

So have I, and in the past I've been quite pleased with Zappo's customer service. But I've resolved to buy things locally, unless I absolutely cannot find it or a comparable item except online.

Oh, yay for you getting your teeth cleaned! I feel people need dental encouragement, because I know I do. The shoes you got are nice . . . but you're right, the other ones were prettier! But you'll buy fancy shoes again soon, no doubt. I don't think you've sunk into permanent decrepitude just yet. ; )

I'm...kind of a fanatic about getting my teeth cleaned twice a year. The idea of not being able to do that (say, if I didn't have insurance) makes me a little squeamish.
