Geyser of awesome
This morning I ran to Target to purchase a bra base for my cabaret costume. As noted on G+, I should not be allowed to roam SuperTarget unsupervised until 2012.
I came home with two bras (they were on mega-clearance), three pairs of these knee-length swishy pants that are great for dance practice and acupuncture, a funky army-esque jacket (with a sassy ruffle at the neck), and a brown leather handbag. The handbag was the only thing not on clearance, and I don't feel bad (well, too bad) for the splurge because me shopping for handbags usually ends in tears and I've been looking for a brown purse for something like five years (I'm not exaggerating on either count).
Despite the clearance prices, I still didn't get out of there for under $100. Yikes. I'm going to see if the consignment store wants any of my winter stuff that I don't feel like wearing again this year. *crossing fingers*
I was able to do a bit of wardrobe gleaning because this afternoon I unpacked all my winter clothes and put away the summer wardrobe. Area residents may expect a return to temperatures in the mid-70s for the next week.
There's only thirty more minutes left of my roots-dying session and I really really really hope the pile of indigo mud sitting on my head is the cause of this nagging headache. Ngggg. We're going to see the Slasher Kings show at Union Station tonight and I don't think a headache would be a good accessory to bring along.
I'll leave you with the best thing I discovered yesterday. Archie McPhee is on Tumblr.

This made me nod, knowingly. It always works this way.

Congrats on the purse, and really, that was some super pillaging there.
I shall pack away my tanks and thin T's .. in hopes that we'll enjoy a mild winter.

HA HA HA HA HA MY LIFE.
I'm super happy with the purse, and would go back for the same one in black if I could justify another $25.

but i have been equally thinking of not doing. happily, for some stupid reason, the sensible clothing store, marks and sparks, has gone into a variety of businesses, including gas & electricity. having moved house i will now get M&S vouchers for being a 'new' customer again, which is great, because the last pair of trousers i got was from there and they were very reliable.
i also may need some sort of winter coatish thing and really want some walking boots, so i am not out of the woods yet.
plus, i just bought a heavily discounted black jersey from the online clearance place, so am busy justifying it to myself. the temptation is to buy more stuff because the postage is the same either way, but of course, that way madness lies.
